I actually sent back two Moto Droid 1 back to motorola and they had it for about 7 days each time which wasn't all that bad. I had to have the power button fixed because it was stuck down. They fixed and also tightened up the slide on the phone. Also, they flashed it back to stock so if your rooted I would take an image of your phone to restore it. You will have to reroot to shoot the image. And it was all covered under warranty.

I put up the same poll in the most popular phone categories on this forum. Results so far for % of people that have sent their respective phone back for repairs:

HTC Incredible - 11.1%
Motorola Droid X - 20.8%
HTC Droid Eris - 28.6%
HTC Desire - 33.3%
Motorola Droid - 33.3%
Samsung Galaxy S - 33.3%*
HTC Evo 4G - 50%

Make of this what you will. It's not the most diligent of surveys so I'm sure people are going to shoot it down for flaws (some of which I can see myself). It's still useful I think. It'd be nice if we could get some iPhone results too.

Ah, now that I see what you're doing, I think it's a pretty good idea. It won't be the most scientific poll, but at least it'll be an indicator we can look to with some weight.

I've never mailed my D2G off for repairs, but I'm on my 4th one (two new, two CLNR) from Asurion. They've mailed me one BEFORE I send my old one off, every time, and I've never been without a phone, except the time I washed mine, which was obviously my fault.
