Even all 3rd party like RS, BB, Walmart, & most other small retail stores like Wireless Jungle & etc offer 30 day money back...you can always end your contract within that period. That's why Companies like ATT, Verizon, Sprint pay these retailers after like 2 months.

Call the new Sprint customer hotline:866-866-7509
The lady knew exactly what I was saying & walked me through the application process total it took (7-10minutes) at the end I got mine Incomplete App#

good luck...

That was the number I called and this barely English speaking lady answered.

damn that sucks....

RS uses the same system as sprint...lol I am sure they just log into there portal to sign people up. BB is lagging behind.

PreOrder with RS: $20 accessory credit+15% accessory discount+Pre Credit approve check (less wait time at the store)

Both Best Buy and RS will have to rerun your credit. They can not pull up an exisiting application number. Unless they actually set up a shell account and gave you an ACCOUNT number. The application number cannot be pulled up directly. When the credit is ran though, as long as all the information matches it will pull up the same results.

FYI BB is not lagging behind. BB is ahead of the game with an integrated activation site. They also have access to the same portals that RS use.

lol yea BB is probably not lagging behind. But Sprint Rep confirmed my credit history will not be rerun twice. Then I talked to RS guy & he confirmed I would just need to bring in my application # so they can add a plan to it & the phone ...credit report would NOT be run twice. RS is Chantilly, VA ..just got off the phone with him.

Don't misinform the other members in this forum ....I have worked in finance/banking industry for over 12 years there is no way they would rerun a credit history for something they already have the results for.

Correct, your credit will not be pulled twice but they will still have to enter in all the information. They cant just type in your application number and run with it. So it really doesnt save you any time (though is still a good idea to make sure you are approved)

I am porting from AT&T.. Called the number listed in post one (thanks!!) and was approved for 5 lines, no deposit and no spending limit.... I have 2 EVO's on pre-order with Best Buy... Come on Friday!!!!

haha my whole family thinks I'm crazy ...can't wait till Friday!

RS is opening at 6am but I think that might be too much waking up that early might just go around 9-10....unless I can't go to sleep at all.

Mine as well.... I am leaving AT&T and the iPhone 3GS.... I have 2 of them now (1ea 16GB and 1ea 32GB).... Can't wait for the EVO... I just called my local Sprint sotre and he said they were not taking pre-orders and it was 1st come 1st serve for whatever they get in stock... I might just get to the store early and camp out then use my BB gift cards for some accessories when they get them in...

Yeah Sprint will give you incomplete application number....just use that BB & they can pull up your account ...all they would have to do is add a plan to it & assign the phone to your account.

Yup I just signed up and got my application #. Saves a couple of minutes and no security deposit needed. Good thread, I would have never thought of signing up through Sprint before this.

Friday should be a breeze

I had called to get a credit check a couple weeks ago... Today, I called back to get the application number.

It took about 20mins because they kept trying to sell me phones to fill the 5 lines I am approved for. I told them I need the application number to give to best buy to purchase the phone from them on Friday. He kept pausing before giving me the application # to try and sell me on some more stuff... Even tried to sell me on mobile internet, to which I replied, "Sir, that is what I plan on using the EVO for."

5 with no deposit, but the said I can't activate the EVO I have until June 4th and only with the # listed on the i/o paper.

I called Sprint telephone sales a few weeks ago to see if they would be taking pre orders on the EVO and they said NO! The guy did offer to run my credit and get me a credit confirmation # good for 45 days. I just gave that number to Radio Shack when I pre ordered.

that sucks. approved credit is good for 45 days but a failed id check gives you 60 days to wait.

I called RS to confirm my credit check that I did with Sprint... The RS manager said I needed a 6 digit pin to go with the pre approval so I called Sprint back... Sprint said they don't give account pins out until you starts service.... Round and around I go...

Bottom line is I called Best Buy as well and they said the pre approval mean nothing and they will need to pull credit again... RS said they need a pin that I cant get so they will need to run another credit check...

I guess the pre approval is only good if you are buying from a Sprint Store, online or via tele sales....

Waste of a credit pull....

that's weird my RS guy told me to bring in that application# & my license. The lady at sprint confirmed also this is all I need for RS.

too much contradicting information...hopefully everything goes smooth on Friday

hey guys, i just did this...im approved for 5 lines w/ no spending limit apparently.

edit: she also gave me an approval number...its 12 numbers/letters long

however, the lady on the phone was "surprised" at the radio shack thing about 500.00 for the phone without a contract (unactivated)...im a new subscriber and do i need to be concerned that i wont be able to purchase this phone without a contract on sprint (i dont care about activation fees)? like, if i pay full price as a new sub will they allow me to go month to month with it? i just dont want another contract...cause then if sprint pisses me off or this shit sucks after like 5 months i can do whatever i want.

TLDR; vzw and att will activate new people with no contract + activation fee if you pay full price...will sprint do the same? lady on the phone seemed confused as why i didnt see the "value" in having a 2 year commitment.

Ya the RS manager told me to access the credit check he needed my name, my SSN and the confirmation number... He then said I needed a 6 digit pin that Sprint should have set me up with when I did the credit check... I called Sprint back and they said they don't issue the 6 digit pin until you have / start service....

I can't get the PIN until I have service but RS needs the PIN to access credit approval and start service..... Round and round we go....

update. i had my RS rep call the sprint manager person and they said you cannot start new service WITHOUT a 2yr contract. the 500.00 is pretty much for people who dont qualify for an upgrade or dont want a contract extension.

after some simple math it really doesnt matter...sprint hasnt done an att or vzw and jacked up the etf...its still a pro-rated 200.00....so the phone is at worst 100.00 cheaper if i decided to cancel 31 days into the contract.

i just ****ing hate contracts. i dont need a subsidized phone and i dont want to have commitments...i handle phones like the girls i meet

Many of the fake scores (called FACO's) can be as much as 250 points different than a real FICO.... Someone who has a 800 FACO may actually only have a 600'ish FICO
