I bought my wife series 1 of the new Doctor Who. She absolutely loves the series. I got her hooked on it when it started back up. She likes Matt Smith, but he's no David Tennant.
IMHO, Amy Pond is the hottest, Donna Noble is the most Awesome, and Rose was a lot of both.

Your first Doctor is always your favorite - I'm a Tom Baker man, and Sarah Jane was the definitive companion, next was Adric, purely for the value in the Guardian sequence.
Plus - I always thought Donna whined too much - liked her gramps, tho!! I thought Martha just completely outclassed her on all fronts.

I watched the Old version, in reruns, when I was a kid. It was great. We started watching the new series, I'm liking Matt Smith, but I don't think he'd be as good without his companion.
Tom Baker... man. When I think the Doctor, it's hard to picture him without that scarf.
Did you watch the Sarah Jane Chronicles? I didn't watch much of them, but I very much enjoyed Torchwood.
Although, rewatching Series 1 (the new version), I noticed that the face of Boe had a child. Which, in case you didn't realize, the face of boe was Jack Harkness...

Absolutely enjoyed Torchwood - created in response to David Tennant's visit back and meeting the queen.
You know, the one thing they never tried when battling Rassilon as an evil leader was to accuse him of being Keyan by way of Hawaii.

Something I've been thinking about (and we probably won't ever see) is The Doctor's daughter.
I would like to see her play a role of importance in the series. I don't think we will, as the new series tends to drop those links when we get a new doctor, although I've been happy with River Song.
