Hawaii Challenged to Produce Statehood Certificate

As the devil's advovate, I ask you: If Obama's birth certificate truly does show him to be a natural born American citizen, why not simply produce it and bury all this drama for good?

Personally I don't really care. Either way he's a crappy president.

The sad thing is... he has.

Where has he produced it? All I've seen is the certificate of live birth, which is just a "receipt" from the hospital, containing no delivery doctor signatures and foot prints.

I don't get it. I've never heard of any president or politician having to produce such a personal document. If it was done, then someone was dumb - it just validated the accusation.

I have a lot of confidence where he produced it - to the FBI and the defense intelligence and security community in order to check all of the squares showing his bona fides so he can have his finger on the button.

Were he incapable of proving his presidential eligibility to them, he'd be making little rocks out of big rocks with a hammer by now, or he'd have had an accident.

Either way - Article Two of the US Constitution was not circumvented in this case.

Unless someone wants to accuse the defense community of unpatriotically defying the constitution they swore to uphold.

It's not like those guys treat their responsibilities like they're at a country club.

When you have your own family saying they witnessed your birth in another country, it would probably just be a good idea to prove them wrong and show your birth certificate instead of hiding it and making everyone start crazy conspiracy theories.

I haven't followed this entire nonsense about his birth.

As for what you've written, all I can say is that crazy people aren't cured by a piece of paper and every family has crazy people.

Did they say that and if so, why?

1. It's true. See my post above.

2. He owes them money.

3. What? You don't have crazies in your family? Where do I sign up?

*I* don't have crazies in MY family.

Oh, wait...

"Look around your circle of friends. If you don't see 'that person', it's you!"

Nah. No need to "give in" to the crazy birthers. Besides, it gives them something to do about those voices only they hear. :D

Actually, it was posted on his website for the longest time.

PolitiFact | Obama's birth certificate: Final chapter

Politifact received one from the campaign and verified it's authenticity with the state of Hawaii. They even compared it against the Birth Certificate of one of their Hawaii born staffers. Identical.

At some point there is only so much you can do to quiet people who have something that they WANT to believe, regardless of the facts.

He already gave in, and they are still crazy birthers.

After it's been independently proven, and people still don't want to believe the truth, there's nothing more you can do about it.

I know there are karzies on both sides but how this birther thing grab hold of such a relatively large proportion of the right?
Do people hate Obamacare that much?
Apart from Bush, this is the worst prezi-hate I have ever heard of

Much of the "right" is absolutely apoplectic about Obama. Their pain warms my heart.

The hate for Obama on the Republican right is an outgrowth of the so-called "Southern Strategy" There's a pretty good article on that subject on wikipedia:

Southern strategy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you read it, you can draw your own conclusions about much of the hate aimed at Obama.

People still believe that bombs were planted in the World Trade Centers, even though experts have explained that no bombs were used.

People still believe that GWB lied about Iraq, even though every intelligence agency in the world agreed with our findings.

People who want to believe something will. And honestly, it doesn't have ahold of that much of the right.

It's a way to express racism and get away with it is the only thing I can see.

No, it's a way to really be against Obama and the Democrats. This isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened, the only reason it's considered racism now is that he's black.

Take it from someone in the South (deep South... Alabama Deep South... not quite Mississippi Deep South)... Race isn't a part of politics down here, for the most part.

White politicians aren't using race as a part of their politics, they did during/after the Civil Rights movement, but you'd be a fool to claim that's still going on.

That being said, black politicians are still using race as a part of their politics. It seems every week Alvin Holmes is making a racism claim against some white person, without any facts to back up his claims...

And boy, does the left make great use of accusations of racism, every time someone criticizes Obama.

I've heard it referred to as "X Derangement Syndrome". We just got done with 8 years of it under Bush, now we get to see however long a stretch with Obama. And it's a large part of what keep Sarah Palin in the news.

Don't think it's a new thing, just that it's far easier to see in the internet age.

Now, back to the charge of "racism". Because I think I've heard that spewed enough at this point.

Are there folks in the US who are racist, and dislike our siting president because of that fact? Yes. However, there are the minority.

The rest of us dislike his policies, his attitudes, and his seeming total lack of a clue on so many damn issues.

We also despise the identity politics being used, where anyone who disagrees with the president's viewpoints "must be racist". I find it insulting, to a level that I really don't remember ever hitting before. And that insult is driving a deep wedge between the right and the left. And every time we hear it, that gap gets a little wider...

Y'all will excuse me, I think I'm done with this bs.

That is a certificate of live birth.. no delivery doctor signatures, no foot prints, etc. That is just a receipt for a birth certificate. I can't even get my job at work with just a certificate of live birth, it has to be the original.

I didn't realize that you were versed in Hawaiian law.

They sent it to the Hawaiian Department of Health, and the Hawaiian Department of Health confirmed that it was an official Hawaiian Birth Certificate.

I'm sorry, but I believe they know Hawaiian law better than you do.

Occam's Razor? I guess I can go along with that. As I said, I've just not paid attention to this entire subject, allocating it to the rantings of crazies. I also mentioned that I've unfortunately known a few who expressed this nonsense to me in real life, they were definitely racist, so I simply extrapolated - perhaps too far, as you suggest. Anyway, your reason makes sense if I think back from Eisenhower to present and all of the nonsense leveled at every prez along the way.

PS to Strings - I am - what's a good way to say? - at least somewhat far from the left. ;)

Without a delivery doctor's signature, it is not the original. Yes, it is an official Hawaii certificate of live birth, but not the original birth certificate. There is a difference between the two.

Also, you may want to look at what a real 1961 Hawaii birth certificate looks like. ;)

my delivery birth certificate does not have the delivery doctor signature on it. So I guess I wasnt born in the USA?

I'm saying Hawaii.. look at a real 1961 Hawaii birth certificate. They required a delivery doctor signature back then.

He only half black and half white. People are being racist toward his white side by calling him black. Talk about judging based on skin color.

I was just saying my doc didnt sign and I was born in '71. Just because it wasnt signed. dont mean its a fake or that he wasnt born in the states.

That doesn't matter.. I was specifically speaking of Obama's official birth certificate for the state he was born in at the time. They required a delivery doctor signature, and the official birth certificate back then does not look like the modern certificate of live birth shown in the link a few posts back.
