Root Hboot 1.58

Makes sense. Why make a different version when they already have one? Thanks for confirming. I figured it was the same!

Luckily we don't need to do this for the Sprint OTA since the hboot didn't change and S-ON users can run the 2.89 RUU after flashing the setmainverlow.zip file. But I am also grateful to remanifest for being the VM guinea pig. :thumbup:

May I get the link to both of said files to try out? :D

I'm guessing setmainverlow I can just flash in 4ext. I think I'll see how much these phones are going on ebay at S-Off cuz I'm thinking about doing that. If I do do that, I'll upload a stock nandroid (before the phone even boots) of the latest OTA

edit: would it probably just be better to make it S-Off for selling or keep it S-On? o:

You don't want the sprint ruu if you have the evo v. The other file can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865569

Personally I would leave it s-off. You may even be able to get more money for it if you advertise that as a selling point. Even if you don't mention it, anyone not into rooting won't know the difference. Anyone wanting s-off would probably be stoked to see they already had it.

Edit: I misread and see you are s-on. I'd probably leave it then if you are selling. Let someone else deal with unlimited.
 
I'm running the Sense 4 ROM and everything is working great. But can someone tell me why I cant install cm 9 or cm10 or jb ROMs??

What's your HBOOT version? If it's 1.57 or higher, that's why. If you're on 1.50.5050 or lower, then there is something else wrong. Look into changing HBOOTs. The answers are in this forum somewhere. I'm too lazy to look right now, but if Ramjet sees this thread, he will link to a guide in like 2.2 seconds flat. His link-fu is impressive :D
