Had also wondered about this. And there is also talk that the newer roms will require 1.58. Will that even be an option on here or even needed?

Could always RUU method to restore back to stock. and im guessing not needed as of right now.

Flashing the RUU will bring it back and don't worry it you'll still have S-OFF
You should be able to run the RUU. It may also be able to be pulled from the RUU and put into a similar type of install.
1.57 is definitely needed for the latest Venom build (8/2). That's the only one I know of now, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are more in the future.
It should not be needed because as far as I have read there were people flashing MeanRom and ZR3DX on the Evo 3D which are base off our firmware with the ENG HBOOT (Harmonia and Mobster boot with it), but I could very well be wrong. I have learned a lot about this in the last couple days and just trying to keep up with the sharing the knowledge and what I have done so others can add input. I am not a dev by any means but I love to learn and I am certainly not afraid of taking a risk.
I have placed added 1.57 HBOOT file to the OP. Flash it the same way as this one. I have not tested it, but I pulled it directly from the RUU. I could do the same with 1.58 if that one works since I already have the Sprint OTA firmware downloaded. I am happy with my current ENG HBOOT and CM9, so I am not looking to go back to Sense anytime soon. So if you use it and it works fine, which it should, please let me know.
So those that have done this and gone on the flashfests, what seems to work the best and do they seem to be improvements on Sense roms (battery, smoothness etc)? And it looks like cameras, 4g etc. are working. Seems like the big not working things are HDMI and 3d correct?
I haven't left DT CM9. Battery is ridiculous and the only things that are not working are 3D and HDMI out (dont use either anyway). I have been so busy updating this thread and working:laugh: that I have not tested MMS. So far I cannot find a reason to try anything else. Now that I know AOSP roms work I am more curious about GB Sense roms. I have downloaded both MeanRom GB and ZR3DX GB but have not tried them yet. I will try that when I get bored. Unless somebody wants to test them and let us all know.

I'm on DT CM9 with anthrax 3.0.2 oc'd to 1.4 gHz and lagfree governor. This thing FLIES with anthrax. Not sure on the battery yet, gotta let it settle.
Midnight should but I haven't heard confirmation.
If they are based off VM firmware they should install no problems. I have no idea what the differences are. I have found nothing missing if you downgrade. In MY opinion, I have not found a reason not to do this, but that is just me.
