Root ****HBOOT Downgrade (Working AOSP and GB ROMS)****

Up and running on cm9 but cannot get wifi working.

Edit: nvm rebooted router and now have wifi. Fully rocking cm9 now :-)

I just jumped into the s-off side (had to try wire trick it several times) to downgrade. Tried JB (Awesome smoothness, but buggy), then flashed AOKP and I'm lovin it.
Is CM9 more stable?

So hulu on cm9 says does not have required drm. Anyone else get that? Netflix is fine.

Edit: the hacked hulu apk that has been around for awhile works.

As far as I know the big difference is cm9 has 4g working in the 71 build (apparently broken in 72).

For some reason i can't get CM9 DT to download, can someone please mirror a link? will appreciate

Cm9 not saying 4g in the status bar makes it strange to be sending this over 4g and it looking like there is no data :-)

agreed. that is the only issue i had. i like to see when 4g is on. but it works..i guess thats whats important :)

Yep and with the radio changes etc I seem to be getting it in a couple of places I didn't before. I do wish AOKP would catch up to this point thought.

Here is my phone running cm9.

Yeah I heard about Usb mount issues too, but can use Airdroid in the meantime
What's your benchmark score?

Not nearly as high benchmark scores as I had on some sense roms but I feel that CM9 DT with Anthrax 3.0.4 is the fastest, smoothest rom I've used so far. I have the gpu oc'd too. Man this thing flies.

I was able to get this downgraded from 1.57, but now it doesn't load anything past the HTC startup animation. Then it reboots and does it again. Yes, I've deleted the zip file from the SD card as instructed in another message in this thread.

I was running STOCK ICS, rooted with S-OFF as required. I'm still new to this process, but I haven't had any problems up until after I performed this downgrade. I am still able to get into my bootloader at least. Any suggestions for solutions would be great.

I've tried moving forward and installing CM9 Devil Toast, but I encounter an error when I do that I assume is connected to the problems I'm having with booting normally.

UPDATE: Was able to flash back to the original Hboot using the separate file that's linked to in the first post using same procedure. Now phone is loading everything properly.

I'm wondering if I had a bad installation of the downgrade, which would be weird because it showed in the bootloader that the hboot was downgraded. Still open to resolutions and suggestions

Did you check the md5 before you flashed it? You could have just had a corrupted download.

I didn't the first time.

I did it again about 2 hours ago and checked the md5 first. The md5 was correct. Had no problem installing it, but still got the same problem when I rebooted. It won't load past the Virgin Mobile animation.

:confused::confused: :(

Did you try wiping and flashing a rom after?

Did you try wiping and flashing a rom after?

I tried doing both the first time around and got an error while trying to flash CM9 devil toast. So I didn't try doing it the second time around.

I assumed that my stock rom would boot up just fine since I have yet to put any custom roms on it. I got S-OFF yesterday and immediately stumbled across this thread after looking at CM9 Devil Toast (which is the ROM I want to switch to).

Do I HAVE to wipe and flash a ROM after downgrading to this hboot? My Evo is running the stock ICS from Virgin Mobile. Is there a compatibility issue?

Also when you say wipe are you referring to SuperWipe or are you referring to wiping cache and data using recovery from the bootloader?

Thanks for your help so far koop!
