Root ****HBOOT Downgrade (Working AOSP and GB ROMS)****

Hmmm... After I went S-off, and did my hboot downgrade, I installed Jmz's stock shooter deodexed Rom and it booted fine for me.
 
confirmed you can deff. restore a stock rom backup.. luckily i kept my sense 3.6 team derp backup as well as my sense 4 backup..

interesting..i will try that rom and see what happens..i did try his shooter deodexed rom and it bootlooped

lol go for it bro..sense is not for me. im more of an aosp user.if you have some interest in keeping this hboot, what you could do is flash back tonthe original hboot, then flash a few sense roms that you like..dont even have to set them up..then make a backup of each one..then downgrade hboot again..we cannot flash sense roms so far..but you deff. can restore a sense rom no problem
 
Harmonia and Midnight run fine on the modded Hboot, both are based on the stock Sense.

Seems some people can run stock with a reflash, some can't.
 
I actually just re flashed my backup of midnight after having memory problems with cm9 and had no problems with it on the downgraded hboot.
 
Not sure why some can't go back to sense roms. I tried Cm9, just not for me and drains battery something aweful. So I downloaded Midnight 1.1.6 did a complete format and wipe, installed it, and it's running perfectly fine. Not sure what the issue is with others, but mine works perfectly fine on sense roms.

which recovery are you using? i tried flashing both jmz stock roms and both bootlooped..after full wipes. later ill have to try one of the other stock based roms

Did you recalibrate the battery...

Any time you switch roms, you have to recalibrate how the rom reads the battery percentage.

I get awesome battery life on CM9 DT using smartass v2 gov in anthrax.
 
i was also thinking...for those of us not able to actually flash sense roms with the new hboot.

So if you find yourself missing sense roms. .3.6 or 4.0. .and you cannot flash them but you are able to restore them..

anyone who is running a sense rom and the old hboot could flash the rom bone stock no changes, factory reset the rom, then create a backup of the rom..

then upload the backup into a zip..you would then download the zip, open the zip and extract the backup to the same place all of your other backups are..if your using 4ext it would be sdcard/clockworkmod/backups..drop it there..then from there on out you can flash your sense rom like that

so technically if you like the the 1.04 hboot for all the other roms except sense. but wanna still use sense without flashing hboots you could do it that way
 
I think mobster tried putting up backups of his rom and had issues with people who restored it calling him when trying to call their voicemail.

I am too. But when there is a bug with 4G... I can live without AOSP.

See, with the Triumph the only thing not working on CM7 was HDMI and AGPS. I don't use HDMI, and AGPS was borked from the start anyway. And ANYTHING was better than Stock ROM for the Triumph. (Froyo, really?)

But now I'm dealing with a phone with ICS, and everything (sans SMS issues) works. I'm sorry, but until 4G is working (to where I don't have to reboot every time I want to use it), and the majority of the hardware works, (3D I couldn't care less) I'm sticking to Stock. Besides, the ONLY thing I want right now on my Evo V is a good kernel with smartassv2 (which I'll wait for the sources to come out. Pending they don't take another eon to be released.)

I tried flashing the battery percentage cuz the stock one is just not doing it for me:

I also went back to Midnight rom since MMS wasn't working.
 
I think I'll be making cm9 my home rom for a while..until jmz starts building..it has everything that I would like to work, working..3g..4g..wifi..phone..text..camera..I can deal with the few other thing's like 3d..usb mount..mms is just a matter of time..that's gonna have to be fixed on our end..Agrabren isn't gonna fix vm mms..so that will be up to us

Just to note, USB mounting works just fine, but you have to turn it on in settings.

  1. Settings
  2. Storage
  3. Menu softkey
  4. USB computer connection
  5. Put a check next to Mass Storage
