Help HDMI out

[chrlswltrs]

Can anyone confirm if HDMI out works for any of these? Unless it works for at least 1 of them I can't justify buying an HDMI cable.

1. Emulators
2. Slingbox
3. A movie downloaded to the phone on the memory card

3 only

Yea any movie downloaded and can play on the phone is able to be seen via HDMI out (or whatever you record).

So no slingplayer, that is a real bummer. That makes me wonder what is really the point of HDMI out at all really. Emulators was just wishful thinking, hopefully we can get some apps to enable these on HDMI out with root, maybe after the bootloader gets cracked and we can do ROMS?

I think I read somewhere that the galaxy s phones can do HDMI out via USB, I wounded if that is as limited?
