Root hdmi out

I am trying to use HDMwIn to get HDMI out of my rooted (with MikG v3.11 [3/9/2012] rom). In reading through the forums it looks like i need to add a kernal (such as AnthraX kernel) to make it work.

I am new to being rooted (less than 24 hours) and trying to understand it all. Can I add any kernal to my flashed rom? Is this what I need to do to be able to see my phone on my TV?

Hi, yes you can install any kernel as long as it's sense based for sense roms such as MikG. And yes the Anthrax kernel is sense.
As far as HDMI, I do not know as I dont use it.
However, someone else may see this and give some advice:)
Just remember, sense kernels for sense roms (you have now) and aosp kernels for aosp roms (you do not have now)

Hdmi mirror with anthrax is plug and play. No hdmwin app needed
 
yes, I added the kernal and I took the hdmwin off and it works, I don't know if my cord is buggy (cheap one off monoprice) or if the connection on my phone isn't great, but the plug had to be held just right for the picture to come across, and the sound/picture quality wasn't quite as good as I was hoping, but it may come in handy sometimes.
