Help Headphones volume too high

Would be great if someone finds a solution to this problem...to high for me as well, desire with Koss Porta Pros

Hi guys,

I too experience this problem (htc desire). I don't have sensitive ears (I think) and when people call me the whole office can listen in on the conversation. I don't use headphones, but I do use a buggy bluetooth carkit once in a while.

I suspect this might be related to the volume being out of control. The carkit allows me to change the volume during a call, but it crashes sometimes (yes I need to get a new one). Could it be that after my phone disconnects it has messed up the volume settings?

Anyone else use bluetooth devices?

I used the bluetooth carkit again. The device crashed, display went blank, conversation continued though. Afterward the problem of the volume being too high was back.

Just had a call (bluetooth off), with volume on lowest setting. During this call I set the volume higher and then lower. The volume went down immediately, it kind of reset itself, I guess. For me this is an acceptable workaround.

The excessive volume issue only affects my Sprint Hero when using wired headsets. Unfortunately, the two Maximo wired headsets I own have no inline volume adjustment. When I connect my Jabra Bluetooth device, I can easily adjust the volume to a lower, comfortable level. So I don't think the problem is inherently enhanced by Bluetooth.

I have this same problem. Is there really no app or setting that increases the granularity of the volume controls? I have good headphones that work with all the other devices I use, and I don't want to buy another pair just because of inflexible software settings.

I've started using Music Player when I'm in quiet environments. Overall it's not nearly as good/polished as something like DoubleTwist, but it has its own music volume control that provides much more granularity. I still wish there were a way to globally control media volume with more precision, but this is the only tenable solution I've found so far.

I have this problem with a nexus one and a pair of in ear headphones.

When making calls the volume is sooo loud on the lowest setting. The only work around I have found is to half unplug the ear buds to lessen the volume.

This is such a fundamental mistake that it would turn many people away from android phones which otherwise are currently better than iphones.

If android is open source why has this issue not been solved?

Bump! Isn't there some kind of configuration file somewhere that could be edited? Samsung Galaxy S2 with FM Radio app.

I finally discovered a solution to the volume issue in the Hero. I replaced the Hero with a Galaxy S II. ;-) Wow!

I'm using the SGS2 also, but the volume is too high at the lowest level, don't you think so? With the stock earphones at least.

Hello,

Any solution to this issue yet? I also own a Desire and the headphones volume is way too high. I am using the standard headphones and do not want to purchase a new set. In the office I use the lowest media volume setting, which is not low enough. I hope anyone makes a good app for this.

Regards,
Roy

If it helps you concentrate better then use headphones (better than office noise I think). I like using bluetooth so I don't get tangled in wires.

Just a quick "me too" note.

I'm using a RAZRi with Pocket Casts podcast player / manager and connecting it to the aux-in on a Tivoli Model 1 table radio, using a bluetooth plug adaption fron 7DayShop.

I have to have the physical volume button on the table radio to just marginally above zero, and even then, anything above the lowest volume setting on the phone is ear-splitting.

The same podcast software, specific podcast, bluetooth adaptor and destination speaker works perfectly when driven from a Sony Xperia Ray, where I previously had the table radio volume control at around 50%, and also when driven from an iMac.

I've also had issues using a set of bluetooth headphones where the volume is clipped using the RAZR even at low volumes, but has no such issues with the old phone.

So it seems to me it's firmly under Motorola's control / responsibility.

Hey guys i found a fix for this at least for mp3 played through google play player (not sure about other players) but i went to settings and then lowered all of the EQ settings to alomost the lowest possible which reduced the Db by a lot I can now listen to music for more than 20 mins in a day :D

I have the same problem on my 2014 Moto X using Beats urbeats ear buds and when I'm listening to iHeartRadio on the lowest volume setting it's really loud. The urbeats have volume control but it only works with iOS

Hello there.
First of all, hi, I'm Nick and this is my first post ever :D, I'm glad I registered on these forums which seem very, very useful.

I have a simple question. I use in-ear headphones which usually perform at very high volume. That is to say, I have to put the volume very low on the phone for an optimal use.

However, my HTC Desire, even at the lowest possible volume, is still too loud for my fragile ears. Is there any way to fix this and change volume settings?

Cheers.
There is a great app in the Google play Store called ExtraVolumeSimple. I know it sounds like the opposite of what you want, but it is free. And it can decrease the volume of your music, and other media volume if you move the extra volume into the negative numbers. It is a pretty neat app. I recommend this. Good luck.
