Root Heat sensor shuts phone down when inserting headphones?

Hi all,

I've had my LG Optimus V for a few months now, rooted and using Link2SD from the great instructions on this site. If you don't mind a quick question....

It seems 1 out of 4 times when I place my earbuds into my phone's headphone jack, an error message pops up, something to the effect that the heat sensor on my phone needs to shut my phone down.

My phone sure doesn't feel hot, I'm doing nothing abnormal, and it will in fact reboot just fine.

Is there any way to disable via software this rather PITA process?

Thanks!

Lower your CPU speed. What ROM do you have? What recovery? Try a fresh download and install of ROM if that doesn't work try a different recovery thats recommended for your Screen Drivers.

Hi AndyOpie150,

Thanks a bunch for the assist.

I'm using the stock ROM that came with the phone. I haven't touched it, really, in any significant way I know of (I'm a professed n00b), other than to root it to get Link2SD to work.

Thanks again for helping out,
Oy.

Ok, try pulling battery and holding power button down for 30sec.
Just in case you don't know, now that your rooted you can never use the factory reset in the privacy menu or you will brick your phone.
You can only use the "wipe data/factory reset" found in your recovery.
