If you can't get Revolutionary.io to work, you can visit http://www.htcdev.com and follow the instructions there to unlock the bootloader.
The custom recovery and superuser linked in the above thread apply whether using Revolutionary.io or HTCdev.com to unlock the bootloader. Custom roms are also linked at the same site as that mentioned for the superuser.
Because it's an improper root and leaves you defenseless without a custom recovery - and that means no nandroid backups.
With Kingroot you have to fart around and overdrive the system hoping that the exploit will work.
Then you get to fart around replacing king user/ king root with SuperSU - and that's all a waste of time when a vendor-supported bootloader unlock is available that lets you root following the Android standard rooting model.
Yup I'd ONLY recommend kingroot if you have no access to a pc, theres also this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersume to make it easier to swap the Chinese crap for SuperSU.
And don't do anything with root without a custom recovery backup unless you're REALLY confident about what you're doing..
If you have an unlocked bootloader (which you dont), you can use the app Flashify to flash a custom recovery https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify.
But I say if you have a PC, follow EarlyMon's advice and do it properly because you don't seem very experienced (no offence)
