Hi everyone,

Im coming over as of tomorrow from a DROID x ( 4th one).
I was given the option of a DROID x 2 or the incredible 2, I chose this since I am completely jaded by the dx.

Any help with suggestions as to how I can start customizing it? Improving what doesn't come from factory at its best?
Does golauncher pro work on this phone?

Hello, and welcome to the forums!!! :)
The hTC Droid Inedible 2 that you get in will probably be running 2.3.3 on it already. There is one update (32mb 2.3.4) that it should show right after you activate it and set up your google account. I just activated a new one last Wednesday and the phone got this update and started downloading it by itself, so if you want to root you might not want to take the update, I don't think 2.3.4 is rootable a of now (might be wrong) , but 2.3.3 definitely is.
Enjoy, it will probably be a great & refreshing switch from your other phone.
I love mine, I read a review where the dinc2 was called the "Toyota Camary" of Android phones, it is a solid 3g device.
Possibly, one of the last great 3g's with everything moving to dual cores and 4g. ;)
Yes, from what others are saying on the forums you can defiantly run go launcher, or launcher pro... Ect., Ect...

Fancy seeing you here NightAngel79. I had to jump ship since I now have an Incredible 2...but I still go back to the OG Incredible forum every once in a while to see what I'm missing on the GB subject...LOL. So far I've been very pleased...nice upgrade from my OG Incredible. Only issue I have is if the phone is processing a lot of info it will do a random reboot every so often. And then once it does if I don't give it a few minutes after the reboot to settle down and I scroll over to the "messages widget" screen I'll get an HTC Sence force stop message. Then it seems like Sense reloads and I give it a few minutes before doing anything else....then it's fine.
 
Your htc droid incredible 2 will probly come with 2.2.3 gingerbread already on it...
Check the skins out why you wait...

Im so sad- I was supposed to be basking in dinc2 greatness but instead all I have is the battery and case... sigh

Does the keyboard change with the update? And the update is gingerbread??
Gb made my DROID x is unreliable and glitch
It resets constantly, the lb is horrible on the dx I don't know if it has changed the one on the dinc2, could someone post a picture of what it looks like? ??

you shouldn't have any troubles....
 
If you don't like the stock keyboard the dinc2 comes with you can sign up for Swype and they will will send you a link to run the installer and download Swype, that's what I use, version 3.25 beta.
All you have to do is go to www. Swype .com and register for the beta with an email account you access on your phone, its free.
Then if that's not to your liking you could try Swiftkey X ; my friends really love that one and tease me for liking Swype so much.
There are options... ;)
 
so here's my rant....

First,Ive gone through 4 crappy trash DROID x I call and they tell me go to a store they'll give you either a DROID x2 or dinc2 I get there they say they can't do it it has to be done through tech support So I call,they ask all my info I pick the dinc2 and next day shipping They send the phone 3 days shipping ( I took a day off work to wait for it, thanks) They sent the wrong phone I call and complain so they say they're sending the dinc2 now,they do but under a wrong name so fedex wouldn't give it to me and I can't go pick it up at the office even if I wanted to because Verizon has to call first and make the correction,and it should be done * sometime tonight*

I can't find pictures of the different keyboards

I don't get what the arrows are used for on stock keyboard and the empty spaces????
 
Wow!, man, I feel for you, that is a nightmare!!!
I work at an online shipping company, packaging & sending out all the orders, so I know first hand how terrible this kind of situation can be.

The arrows are to move the cursor since there is no optical trackpad/trackball so you can delete words and backspace and whatnot. I don't understand what empty spaces you are referring to though, then again I don't use the sense keyboard. I have had Swype since the second day I got my dinc2. Yeah, it took a long time for them to send me the installer .apk in the reply email. ;)
 
Well on my phone I just touch where I want to go on the screen and the cursor appears there
The dinc2 doesn't do that? How weird


Well tomorrow im supposed to go get it, let's see what kind of an experience and bull ill hear tomorrow. If I don't get it by tomorrow im gonna cancel it
 
So I showed up at FedEx and they didn't want to give me the phone cause Verizon didn't call and put the package under my name, I called Verizon and they had me on hold for 1 hour, I finally got someone that made it happen got my phone at 11 am.
So far its awesome ;)

I love how it fits in my hand with the extended battery
It looks great the keyboard is 10 times more respnsive and accurate than the Droid x
Also it came with Android 2.3.4

Woo hoo!
I hate Verizon :/

Yeah I'm playing with it a lot night angel :)
