Root Help! Boot loop!!

Sounds good. Don't forget to make a new Titanium and nand backup once you get all your apps loaded and all is stable. I'd almost lean toward deleting your previous nand backup at that point also since its proven to be of little value and could possibly even be detrimental if reloaded.

Looking forward to hearing the end result of this one.

OK so deleted the "backups for uninstalled apps" used appbrain to get almost all of my apps back (there were several paid apps that I had that appbrain wont let me re-install without paying - annoying!) - waited several hours with intense use and phone is back to being SNAPPY, and made a new TITANIUM BACKUP! (I had one random short version of a reboot last night - was about to make a call, was in dialer, and all of a sudden the Droid Eye appeared for about 3 seconds.. then took me back to the dialer... no clue what that was and hasnt happened since).

I was actually just about to make a new Nand when I decided to just check back here. How do I delete the old ones??

After I do the nand.. if i can gather up enough courage I may try to re-install my multi-colored circle battery mod... Not sure if I should try and find a new version of it, if there is a new version (truthfully I had that mod on my phone for months before the S*** hit the fan, so we'll see)

THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

ps - i will follow you through every thread from now on...

Easiest to use a file manager and go to the Clockworkmod folder on the SD card, then the Backup subfolder. Delete the offending backup.

Just FYI- to cap off this story (hopefully)

I deleted all my old Nandroids and performed a new Nand Backup (in about 5 seconds I will place that backup file on my laptop for extra-backup purposes).
I then reinstalled my multi-colored circle battery mod ... its been about 2 min, and so far all seems well...

AND SO........... after about a week, my phone looks just as it did before, minus a few apps that I will somehow have to get back (the paid ones from appbrain discussed above) and minus about 30 apps that apparently I never used. Phone is nice and snappy, even faster than previously.
Unfortunately, I still have no clue what caused the initial boot-loops but I pray this never happens again.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO iowabowtech (he is always in lower case) FOR GUIDING ME THROUGH THIS PROCESS!!

I will report back in a few days, hopefully with the news that all is well (if for some reason I fail to report back, either assume all is well with my phone, or I have jumped off a bridge).

As an aside, I decided to disable the Titanium Backup automatic backup scheduling system. I will do my best to try and back it up once a week manually. This way I can ensure that my most recent back up is of a time when the phone worked perfectly and I don't get stuck with a faulty app within my backup.

Thanks again.. see you around the forums!

UPDATE-

Everything was PERFECT with my phone for about a week... then I downloaded something and got the boot loop back... fortunately I just did a wipe and used my backups to a time before the bad app...

the culprit...

SWYPE!!!

I love swype to death (well almost), but that seems to be the app that is causing my boot loops on Virtuous 3.2 not sure if anyone else has had this issue..

Swype was working fine when i had an old version of it, but then it expired and caused me to update it... well updating it most likely caused my boot loops

ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE?

btw I hate swiftkey 8pen etc... so please dont even suggest it...

wish I could get swype back but not worth the headache...
