Help Help cannot scan a particular WiFi network

Lurker
I have this very strange problem whereby I am unable to find my home WiFi network. It used to be working but started just few days ago.

My home WiFi network is not hidden as I can scan it using my old HTC Magic but not my HD2. And my HD2 WiFi is fine as well as I am able to find my office WiFi network and every other nearby WiFi network.

Sometimes when I just started to turn on my WiFi, my home WiFi appears for a few seconds and its gone again.

I tried manually added my home WiFi as well, not working. Any suggestion? Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
On which channel is your Wi-Fi network running? You can enable all channels on the phone ("Settings" / "Wireless & Networks" / "Wi-Fi settings" / press "Menu" and choose "Advanced", then select "Regulatory domain" and select desired channels).
You can see the channel on which AP running in the AP itself or in the phone in "Wifi Analyzer" application. If there are many Wi-Fi network on one channel, maybe you can switch your Wi-Fi network to another channel.

Also, be sure to check to see what protocol you are running.

HD2 is only B/G, so if you are N only and not allowing B/G, then this could be an issue.

Keep in mind that if you are running N on the 5.4GHz band, you cannot connect B/G devices. If you are running N on 2.4GHz bad, you can allow B/G connections.

It all depends on your router. If you can list the make/mode, might be able to help better.

Thanks,

Couple things to try.

1. Reboot the Router (obvious, but just making sure).
2. Reset the router to factory settings and set it back up.
--This can be an issue for some if they have reserved IP's or have changed the configuration (opened ports and whatnot), but most folks don't do that kind of thing, so this may not be a big deal.

Also check the Encryption methods as well. If you are on WEP, I would HIGHLY suggest you set it up as something stronger.

List the make and model of your router and maybe I can dig in more.

Thanks,
