Root help cant remove bootstrap to get update

Cruzrock

Newbie
Hello .... I messed up. I rooted with Z4root and made a back up. but acouple weeks later I was deleting old files on my sd card. I saw the backup date was older and deleted it. I forgot that was the most important one. I have done the unroot by using he unroot in Z4root. I even did the factory reset on the droidx but it still goes to the Clockworks bootstrap screen. I cant get it off. The update keeps trying to come. It even try to load on my phone in the middle of the night the other night and after the reboot it goes to that bootstrap screen. Good thing I woke up on my own as I use my phone as my alarm. Please help. I am rerooted but want to unroot and accept the update. Have backup with Titanium pro and have tried freezing app. also used System app remover from market.

Thanks for any help.... cruzrock

just want to add ... the factory wipe i did was the one that is stock on the droidx. Should I try the one on the Bootstrap itself?

Thank you

bootsrap and just root will not stop the update ota from working .....as long as you did not delete any system apps like blockbuster city id ..etc...or am on a rom or deodex you can go ahead and accept the ota then you will be all good

I have rooted DX. I have not removed ANY bloatware/software anything. I am unable to receive the OTA update. I am on 2.3.15 on the Apex V1.0.2.2 (I believe) and i wanted to get the OTA update so i can get the new Apex buuuut it keeps failing the OTA update.

it wont go through because you are on apex ...if you have a backup you made befor flashing apex then restore it and then ota and if you dont you will have to flash the sbf for 2.2 and then ota ,heres links and instructions for sbf if needed

I found that thread before and downloaded rsdlite. I installed it on the desktop. I dont know what you mean about putting the phone in pc mode. I did set it to debugging USB. When Plug my phone in it doesnt show up in Rsdlite.
