Help Help changing boot animation

I assume you are rooted, otherwise not possible. So do you know where the boot animation is kept on that phone? Not all phones/manufacturers use exactly the same location. If you didn't see the original one in the location you are trying to copy to that means you had the wrong place.

You also don't say what happens? I am assuming that you still get the stock boot animation, in which case you need to find where that it and replace it. If instead you no longer get that but don't get the one you want then you found the right place but the animation is not compatible with the phone in some way.

The animation is under system, media, bootanimation.31178.zip inside the zip there is a boot and shutdown animation folders. (used root browser) so I then went to the animation I wanted, pasted it to the system - media folder, changed the permissions so it would work correctly. (rw--r--r I believe that's right off top of my head) anyways I deleted the carriers folder. Now I cannot install any custom animation. Suggestions?

You've not said what actually happened when you did this. Do you now have no animation?

(I can't check permissions on my phone at this moment as I don't have it with me right now).
