So I have gotten a new 8GB SD card as of today and when ever i remove my 2GB SD card my phone turns off and goes into a boot loop. So is their any way i could copy my files to my new 8GB SD card using a fastboot or recovery mode or something like that? I'm sorry if i seem like a noob.

I have all of my files from my 2GB SD card copied to my computer and will be transferring them from my computer to my SD card I also do not have an USB SD adapter so that wouldn't be an option until Friday.

Please help I don't really know how to do this.

Yes there is.

Boot into recovery and check for a "USB-MS toggle" (Amon_RA) or "mounts and storage/mount USB storage" (ClockworkMod) option. These will let you copy to the new card.
Dude OMG thank you soooooo MUCH!!! This helped me tremendously!!!:D:D:D:D

I'm not trying to be a total noob here but I've booted into recovery and selected USB-MS - now what? Thanks in advance for your help!

EDIT: I think I pulled my head out of my a** and figured it out!! Dang sometimes I'm just plain stupid!

I really hope your Unmounting the SD card before your removing it.

Menu > Settings > SD & Phone storage > Unmount SD card
Remove the old and install the new

There should be no reason to boot into recovery.

To copy files....
Plug in your USB cable (from your PC)
Drag down the notification bar (should say "Charge only")
Select "Charge only" then on the next menu choose "Disk drive" and press Done

Your PC should open a window showing the contents of your SD card
Copy away

When complete...
Drag down the notification bar (should say "Disk drive")
Select "Disk Drive" then on the next menu choose "Charge only" and press Done

But my phone was in a boot loop at the time so i couldn't do that. haha

Yes, I did unmount first - I've come to the conclusion that my card is bad. I'm heading to Radio Shack to get a 16gb one and hopefully it will do the trick. I live in a rural area and am leaving on vacation this Saturday and need the room!!!!

Did you try formatting your card? or is that not an option?

I did format the card - tried copying files both through recovery method and just copying to phone while in disc drive mode. Obviously formatting between each. It 'acts' like it copied but all my pictures and videos could not be viewed. Also, when I have done a 'full' copy it acts like it has completed but the total amount transferred is different than what was copied from the original 8gb card. Any idea why and how to make it copy ALL? Thanks!
