Accessories Help finding cord please

Hi guys i have a evo and it uses the mini usb or whatever to charge i alsto have a tv radio in my car with a usb port but its the usb port for like a blackberry or something. I want to say its mini. not sure. But i need a cord the goes from mini to micro. The normal usb not the big one the small one to the evo. Can anyone help? Thanks
 
I think you're talking about mini-usb, but to be fair, you should find out which is which so the help we give will be accurate.

In a layman's non scientific terms, mini is "thinner" than micro.

What is it that you are trying to do?
 
mini is the one that connects to the evo correct? and micro is the one that connects to a standard end of a standard usb? so i need one from mini (evo) to micro ( the end that does NOT connect to the computer from a standard usb cable))

yes, please do.

FYI, the evo uses a Micro USB connector. the older blackberry style is the Mini USB. Micro is smaller than Mini.

And what exactly are you trying to connect it to? And why? Just to charge? It may not work correctly if the usb port is designed for something else.
 
Thats what i need then a evo micro to a blackberrys mini. Im connecting it to my tv radio in my car since my aux port is broke and it doesnt have bluetooth. But i can also save to the radio and put pictures on there. so i need a Micro to mini on cord. Thanks for all the help guys. Anyone know where i can find it?

Are you expecting to plug one end of a USB cable into the EVO and the other end into something else and have music come out of that something else?
 
This is why I asked for pics...I am pretty certain that what you are trying to attempt will not work.

I'm relatively certain that audio is only going to come out the headphone jack or the HDMI port. And that the only thing you'll be able to copy music files to is a computer (PC or Mac).
 
Micro-USB is what connects to the Evo. Micro has replaced the older, thicker Mini-USB and is fast becoming the standard.

That is two separate cables pictured side-by-side to illustrate the different connectors. The other end of each one is a regular USB 2.0 male connector, like what plugs into the back of your pc. I don't think anybody makes a cable with Micro on one side and Mini on the other.

some head units do in fact recognize the evo as a hard drive containing music files when connected via usb. the controls even navigate through the files


it isn't actually playing the music/sound via the usb....it's accessing and playing the files on the head unit

some of them that have hard drives allow transfer
 
Again, It would REALLY help if you took a picture of the device and connector you are trying to use. Or at least give is a model number and brand so we can look for ourselves. Normally, any device that ACCEPTS usb input will have a regular usb connector, not a micro or mini. Those ports are usually used for charging. And without pictures, there is no way we can tell you is you need a male to male cable, a male to female, etc.
