Help for idiots

I was just given a iRulu 10.1" Android 4.2 Tablet PC Dual Core A20 1.5GHz 8G/1G Bundle 10" Keyboard by a friend. The user manual isn't much help. I can get around pretty well with my desktop but this tablet is all greek to me. Is there a easy to follow step by step instruction manual out there somewhere that could help this old man?

Sorry, it just goes to show you how old I am. Yes. chanch05 is correct. I don't understand it. I guess what I was looking for was hints on what you need to do whatever. For instance, if I need to use a word processor, what app would I need. Also, how do I set up a home page with clock, weather, local news and so on. Maybe I am not asking the right questions?

You're doing fine. There is a steep learning curve whenever a person purchases a new device.
If you have any specific questions, we'll be happy to try to answer them here. If you still want

a manual, though, go to this website:

irulu.com Buy Tablet PCs,Bluetooth,Batteries for Laptops,Camera Batteries,PDA Batteries ,Flash Memory,MP3 Players,MP4,ipod

Look for a page named Support or a tab/button on the Home page named Support.
Tap on it.
Look for your Tablet name and it should take you to where you can see a .PDF file to download

that is named something similar to:

iRulu 10.1" Tablet - English

Tap on it.
It should start downloading to your Tablet.
To find it, go to:

Home screen
Tap Apps
Tap Downloads (or it might be named Download or Downloaded).
The file should be visible there.

hahaha.... "looks like all Greek to me" = looks like another language = i know it is in English, but i dont get it.

Short list to get you started:
1. create an google account.. to use for your emails on Gmail.com and google playstore (to get more applications on your device).

2. open the "app drawer" and look what apps you have.. test them out. play around.

3. learn how to .. add apps and widgets to the homescreen.

4. go to playstore.. and download a few FREE apps and games. for now only get apps that have 4 stars or more rating.

5. come back here to ask more questions.

I registered and installed db. It didn't give me a place to put you as having recommended.

not sure what db is. usually in your app drawer you can long press on an app and you can then add it to your homescreen. most devices will automatically add your recently installed app to your homescreen.

also just remember that there is an app for almost anything now.....depending if your device is compatible or not(it will say).....just search the play store for whatever you need.

there are quite a few apps that can do word documents.....i just found out that google has Quickoffice which is a free app....most microsoft office apps are not free.....plus if you have Google Drive, you can work on pretty most any android device. you can save it on your computer and then bring it up on your android device provided you are on wifi.

He means he can't understand it.

Well what exactly is it you want to know? It's pretty straightforward. Open the app drawer, select the app you want and press it.

I figured that, but when I first read the OP, thought that's unusual. Because frequently with these things the default language is Chinese(simplified PRC).

thanks for trying..
is my link not working correctly?

DB.. Dropbox is really cool.. and if you have a new samsung device.. it should give you 50GB of free storage (2 yrs).

All i can say is please dont give up and youre not an idiot. Luckily i dont have much PC experience so android was less foreign to me. The best thing is its pretty universal across devices so someone with a completely different tab (even phone) can still help.
Try fixing little challanges one at a time and ask us if you get stuck.
Noone here will EVER consider you an idiot

also... if you are looking for someting.. or need something...
look for the "menu" button... or long-press on the object... there might be something there!

you can also Long-press on the home screen in and empty area...
also on the "button" at the bottom...

Here's another perspective ... never put yourself down ... there are tens of hundreds of people totally willing to do that ... don't help them out.

An idiot would have never posted anything.

I think a few of you are taking the OP's word "idiot" too seriously.

I don't think he thinks himself as a real idiot...
he just wanted to express himself as un-knowledgeable on this subject matter.
relax..
he is learning.. and getting more info... going down the same learning path that many of us did.. in his own time and fashion
