Root help haven power probs with evo4g that have been rooted

heloo every one i am back again it has been some time sent i been on from last year when every one help me get me and my wifes evo 4g rooted and with the long rooting probs we were having with her phone

well guys my prob are let me start with her phone her phone is the evo 4g from sprint the phone rom with rooted to the mike roms the mikg 3.11 the meth that the meth that was used to root the phone with beleave the caption thrpw back with s still on and the kernel that was put in was anthrax 2.6.38.8

the issues the phone is having now and i am not sure if it is even a rom issue is that the phone has started to power off on it on and restart. aslo the phone well use more power now

for example the phoen well have a complete charge and when you take it off it last up to a hour and die then on top of that when i turn the phone back on ti well say the phone is back on 80percent then the phoen well sit for a short time an turn it self off and then restart and come back on and be at 2 percent. so i plug the phone in then i get this

box that did come up and said that the phoen batty is not able to run on it current batty level an i need ot plug the ac adaptor to it . and here is the catch the phone is still plug in to the charger and it shows that the phone is charging as well

i have cheged all settings on phone nothing has been changed moved or used

all apps that dont need to be running are not as well as services

or any other thing as well such as bluetooth or wifi or any other thing liek that

so this is were iam stuped

How old is the battery?
You could try a different rom but if the battery is old, it may be time for another battery. Or you could switch batteries from your phone to hers and see if it acts differently.
 
nope you posted in the right forum.

it might be you have had a bad flash of the rom. go into recovery and first just wipe dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps. if you are still having issues then try and wipe dalvik cache and cache again along with data and system (wipe all of them 3 times) and re-flash the rom.

also what kernel are you using?

how old is the battery?

well here is the thing the batt has never been replaced the kernel is the anthrax 2.6.38.8

and my phone turns off on its own as well but i dont have the batt prob that i decribe with her phone my just turns off and restarts and the restarts on mine are getting more frequent as well as hers
 
should i run and do the wips from the recovery part or shoul di do it from the mike twiks that are on the rom that was a menu that was placed in there from that

I would try as Ocn suggested and wipe the cache and dalvik in recovery:)

Not necessarily, it may be an app or something else.

You mean to check the integrity of the battery?
 
wounder why my phone turns off an d resets as well then but i am not having the power issue thow


so should i do the same with mine as well
 
k under the recovery i have a option that says under teh wip option says wipe data : battery status shouol i do that that have to do with any thin g

should i alos wip the sdext
 
k rebooting and i well give it a full charge and be back later to let you know the results

no should i do the same with my phone as well even thow i am having the restart issue and not teh power one

ok guys i have anew prob i have tried to reboot in to recovery with my phone and when i try i fallow the same steps hold down the up and down vol buttons and hold down the power button how ever mine dose not go to recovery my phone vibrates 3 to 4 and 5 times and the led light at the tip of the phone is now flashing green what dose that mean and i have pulled the batty and tryed ti twice
 
To boot into recovery, pull your battery then put it back in.
While holding the volume down button, push and hold the power button.
That will bring you to your bootloader screen.
From there you can choose the recovery option.

For future reference and a quick way to get into recovery from your fully booted up phone, download QuickBoot from the play store:)
 
k after doing what you said about i let the phone get a full charge it was full at 525pm central time

her phone seemed ok for a few hours it si now 747pm central time she started to use it an play with it she used it for like 15 mines and it when from 94 to 82. in like 15 mins of use then she stoped for like 30 mines and she picked it back up and it said 4 percent and then turned off and reset and cam back on and 0 percent and shut off again i placed back on the charger and now turned it back on and now it says 59 percent

so i am at lost now

well if a wipe does not work like i mentioned before then yeah i think it is due for a new battery. they are really cheap these days. you can get one from amazon for like $5.
 
if i wipe it from the beginning is that my last reasort i mean i have tb for my apps and datta but never used it yet so well i get every thing back right

and if i do deside to do that well should i just try and get a new rom somthing diff then the mik mik that i have on there now

and my phone just resets dose not have the batt prob if that is what it is so what is the reson for that
 
guessi well try to switch batts with mine and see if that works or makes a diff first

and there is no app or diagnostic of any kind i can use or run on the phone or batt to check it
