yeah sorry you should do both actually. its been awhile but unrevoked3 roots your phone. unrevoked forever will make it so that if you were to accept an ota, it will not unroot you. the forever is a zip that you flash later in recovery.

Found the problem. It looks like Google not only rolled out the fix to devices but may be adding it to the apps in the market as well. Let me example this and then you can try it for yourself.
Install Twitter from the Market. Sign in and leave the app. Go to browser and search Twitter. Choose a link and use Twitter when you get the chooser. For me it still loads Web. Now uninstall Twitter and go to the link above. Scroll until you find a version you want. I use 3.0.0. from December 2011. Install and sign in. Leave app and back to browser. Repeat steps from above. For me this time it loads the app as it should.
So either is still Google messing things up or my phone doesn't support Google Apps any longer because that works for Facebook,Tumblr and others as well. I just need to get the apps somewhere other than Play.
Will do on the root. Luckily I have not started that process yet but when I get home I will. Thanks for the heads up.
Edit: Ran UnRevoked with success. Now need to make sure I understand correctly. If I achieve s-off then there isn't a need to run the forever version correct? I understand the directions as it having it included and only use forever if I fail to get s-off. Or should I run it anyways?
Edit Again: Got it. Am now all set. Again I want to thank everyone for their help. All I am needing now is to know if there is a link to either aide me in customizing a rom or requesting a certain custom rom(optimal since I know nothing about coding)?

Yeah, all that info is like, way above my head, I would venture to say it's close to near earth orbit, it that's high.
I got to the point for all my "likes" that the oldest ones are gone!
So now, I bookmark the page and categorize them in my browser bookmarks.
Yeah, I got alot of bookmarks and I can rename them so they are "easier" to find.

Thanks for all the help. All of you have been great. Unfortunately I am still basically where I started after literally loading every rom listed here and xda and some from places so dark that no one in their right mind would venture. So I have a new set of questions....
As it is I am using CyanogenMod7. Luckily it is closest to what my ultimate goal was because I dont use Googles Market for anything I can get elsewhere anyways. Unfortunately it leaves me a little put out. I am able to open Twitter from all links inside emails and browser but not YouTube or Facebook and I dont understand why 1 will work and not the others so maybe someone can fill me in there. Secondly since there isnt any Google Framework other than YouTube running on my phone it doesnt allow me to sign into G+ App. Anyway I can bypass the login process and have it use the web like Twitter to sign in or is there another quick fix to bypass the activation process?

well i can't say for sure on the main issue with how apps are opening or not from links.
however, you need to flash the gapps file in order to get google's proprietary apps. you can go here [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Evo 4G :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011) - xda-developers and scroll down to the google apps addon.
or you can go the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html. find cm7 it has the gapps file with sprint's vvm cooked in.
I would freeze them first with Titanium Backup, then, if your phone acts funny, you can unfreeze them.
Or, if your phone acts normal, you can remove them either from TB (?) or from your app list.
yeah tb is the way to go to get those frozen and then removed. or you can wipe dalvik cache and cache and re-flash the rom with no flashing of gapps.

Got it fixed. Not sure what was going on but it started working again as mysteriously as it stopped.
Another question.... I found a Rom that looks fairly nice but it doesn't recognize my 3G. Now it does state that it was intended for Japan but is there a way I can use the Rom and flash a Kernel that will connect to Sprint data?

Give an example: A week ago or so I flashed Energy Rom. Used it for a couple days. I flashed it again yesterday to take one more look and all my settings were still there including Bookmarks. I didn't do Nandroid and have been Wipe Data/Restore 3x and ZZZSuperWipe x7 between every rom. So how do I clean my phone from all these old files so I get a clean install on whatever rom I choose to use for the next 2 months when I get my upgrade? I have also formatted my sdcard thinking that would help but no go.

When you say settings, do you mean app settings?
And bookmarks--I think you refer to browser bookmarks?
