Help HELP!-HTC Evo Touch Screen Gone Haywire-HELP!

I finally got around to fixing my LCD and Touch screen. It worked great for about a week I rooted it, installed Cyanogen mod 7. :D

Then one day it was almost dead so I plugged it into a wall charger that wasn't HTC and when I got home I noticed my screen going haywire.

So I re installed my rom cleared catch tried re installing the touch screen to see if the ribbon wasn't all the way in and it still doesn't work. There is a possibllity moister might have gotten in it.

So I was just wondering if there is a way to test it for what it might be
or If I order a new one if it will work or is it some sort of software error?

PLZ HELP I'll take any advice.

xienshroom,

You could flash your device back to stock I suppose to rule-out a software issue, but it does sound like this is a hardware issue to me.

You mentioned possible exposure to moisture--that could certainly cause touch screen issues. Whenever I've seen folks talk about water exposure, we usually recommend removing the battery and putting the device into a seal container (zip lock baggie for example) that contains a good desiccant like dry rice for a few days.

Anyway, I'm okay with leaving your thread here vs. moving it to the all-things-root sub-forum, since it doesn't really sound like a root-related issue.

Cheers and good luck--hopefully, you'll get some good advice from other folks.
