Root Help! I need to format my Evo with Fresh Rom!

Help! I cracked the screen on my Evo, so they sent me a new one and I have to return the cracked one, but I had a friend root my phone and installed Fresh Rom, and I can't figure out how to erase my personal stuff before I send it back. Does anyone know how I could hard reset my Evo with Fresh Rom? I am probably just an idiot but I can't figure it out. Please help!

What hboot version do you have? If its 2.10 or lower then follow the unroot instructions in the Rooting for dummies guide. If its 6.16 then follow the unrooting instructions in the gingerbread rooting guide.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it will depend on what your hboot is to figure out how to unroot you. power off then press and hold power+vol down (you may need to uncheck fastboot, settings/app/uncheck fastboot). this will take you to the hboot screen and at the top will say what your hboot version is.

if it is hboot 2.10 or less then use this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html

if it is hboot 6.16 then use this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html

So all I was looking to do was clear the storage on my old device. I wasn't the one who rooted the phone in the first place, so to have to unroot it seemed like a daunting task for me. But I was able to clear the storage by accessing the hboot info screen by holding down the power+down volume, and selecting clear storage. Thank you so much for your help!

clearing storage however does not unroot you. it just resets everything. you will still have s-off and a custom recovery.
