I can't find the original bootanimation to replace though...
I do not, any idea where mikg hides theirs?
Thanks. If anybody else has any hint or tricks please let me know. Thank you.
if you do not have i suggest that you get it. it is a very useful tool, especially if you want to change boot animations. the file will be named hTC_bootanimation.zip or bootanimation.zip. unfortunately i'm not on this rom right now.
I am on this rom and I am working on the issue myself too, Mik has apparently hid the darn thing somewhere, just have to look for it, fixing to hook it up to the laptop as I speak, got the boot sound changed just have to locate the animation files, will let ya know when I figure it out.

a much better app is root explorer. but it is not free. it has a great feature it can search the system partitions that make it easy to find the bootanimation files. Root Explorer (File Manager)
every rom has the location differently. the search function makes finding the file a cinch.
Ok ill get it, i thought i bought it and used it on my old phone so it should be free anyway since i paid once. Now the problem im wondering, is it because i am not on a custom rom?

they are usually named hTC_bootanimation.zip or bootanimation.zip and on occasion i have found a few to be named SPC_animation.zip as well.I found bootanimation.booted?
