Root Help installing bootanimation

I am using file expert to replace my bootanimation. I found the hTC_bootanimation and replaced it, but when I reboot the animation says android. not the bootanimation i put in place. also i did rename it hTC_bootanimation. i am using mikg2.59 any ideas?

I would recommend using Root Explorer to do this. Go to system>customize>resource and replace the bootanimation.zip file w/ the one you're trying to implement. If I remember correctly, you'll have to Mount R/W for it to stick. Hope this helps.

The method I suggested can only be done using Root Explorer. There are other methods you can use such as apps like Boot Logo Replacer, Boot Animation Changer, and Boot Animation Utility.

here read this thread:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/401030-custom-boot-animation.html. post#2 i break it down. but you do need root explorer like frenchy said. it is paid, but it is a great app. i like it because you can do a search on the system partitions that other file managers cannot do. you will need to search for it as the devs like to hide there bootanimation.

ES File Explorer(Free) can do most of the same with superuser permissions, but supporting developers is definitely the way to go
