Help - is that a folio to be removed?

Halp, i have a dumb question. Just bought S4 and what i can see on the front side (also on the back camera) of the S4 it looks like a protective folio to be removed before first use. But its a bit tougher so should i remove it or its actually corning gorilla glass?!
Thanks

Not sure what a folio is, but whatever it is, remove it! :)

I had a thin membrane covering the camera lens, and all around the chrome sides, and IIRC, the HOME key button. I picked them all off.

Thanks,
it was the protective filter/screen shield :D
Sorry for the nonexistent word "folio"

It was harder to remove so i was confused wether it wasnt a part of the phone

Folio is a real word, it just doesn't mean "tiny almost invisible piece of plastic that is really hard to remove".

Having taken all the other bits of film off my new S4 a fortnight before, I only noticed this one after I saw a post on this forum. Like you, I had second thoughts while I was peeling it off because it was nowhere near as easy to get off as all the other bits of protective film.

Mine's still on. I don't see a reason to remove it unless photo quality degrades (and I sorta like the small extra bit of lens protection that it offers). I think I'm getting good quality and Samsung doesn't tell you to remove it ..so I don't think it needs to be removed to get good photo quality. I think photo quality only degrades if debris gets trapped down inside the hole (at which point you can clean the debris better if you pull that cover off) Did you guys notice better photos after removing it?

No, it made no visible difference. It was the best part of a year ago now but now that I think about it, I recall, it wasn't a complete disc but had a hole in the middle (like a flat doughnut) so didn't actually obscure the lens at all.
