Root Help keeping text message limit down

[No Hands 55]

im running cm7 and i have a question about the limit of texts. when i had my stock evo the android messaging app a setting to delete old messages. so i set it to 200 and 5 MMS that way no thread could go above 205 and my messaging app wouldnt slow down and freeze up my phone. now rooted with chomp i find there isnt anything like that and i have to keep track of the size of threads and delete them all myself.

so my question is, is there anything i can do to get something like that setting from the android messaging app back?

not sure about chomp but GOSMS gives you the option to delete old messages and you can select 200 (default) or change it higher or lower

The stock aosp messaging app supports it as well
