Let me start by saying that this Message Board, especially this section has been an invaluable help.
I believe that my Optimus M uses Android 2.2.1
1) I rooted my Optimus M using gingerbreak.apk 1.2 and it seem to work fine.
2) I started to delete junk from MetroPCS using rootuninstaller and using a list provided by one of the members here, which said which apps were safe to delete.
3) So far so good... until I didn't follow directions NOT to delete the LG Home page.
4) Since I'm brilliant!... I did NOT backup anything and proceeded to delete any undesirable stuff. I guess I was having a manic/idiotic moment.
5) I used a custom recovery file for 2.2.1 by joneidy, which seemed to allow me to go beyong the Android screen when I pressed the "Home" key and the "lower volume" key. Obviously, still no home page but at least I was able to reach the slide down section of the "Home Screen"
6) Ah! It gets worse. I tried factory resetting the phone by turning it on while pressing four keys (camera, lower volume, return and the power key) and I deleted any apps that I installed before.
7) So here where I am... I remove the battery, press the low volume and home key while turning it on. It looks like it's going to let me set it up (I'm sure that I deleted some essential files).
a. Gives me the "select your language" screen
b. Gives me a "tour" of the phone features and says that setup doesn't work
c. Goes to a "minimal" home screen containing: a screen slider unlock key and a volume control slide key, as well as access to the slide down section.
Finally, my questions..
Did I just "brick" my phone?
Can it be saved by me, being the brain-dead wizard that I am?
Do I have to go to MetroPCS and take it like a "man"?
Dumb question: Can I pay someone to revive my phone?
The worst part is that I would do it again... only, a lot more carefully, because I swear that until I deleted the LG Home screen everything was going fine.
Your help, comments, insults will be appreciated. Seriously.

Pardon the long winded post.
P.S. The phone receives calls and I can call back the person that called. Same with text.
