I'm stuck I have been switching between Zeam and LauncherPro for a few days and can't decide....I don't do anything super special and both are set up about the same. I use Beautiful Widgets clock/ weather and Jorte calander. I really like the scrollable dock that both of these have. I don't see a huge difference but it seems that LauncherPro has a bigger following and I'm guessing better support.
What are your opinions?

I used LP for months but had common everyday freezes for 5 to 10 seconds on some apps. I switched to Zeam a few weeks ago and the freezes are gone. So Zeam gets my vote just for speed.

My opinion is no one can tell you what you like and what best suits your own individual needs and preferences. LP has an enormous fan base and I use it myself. ADW has its own following. Zeam is popular for those looking for minimalism. There really isnt a right or wrong choice

I will say like the other posts that its a personal choice. But I will say I was a big adw fan but for the past few days it has been giving me fc's about every hour. So now I'm on the launcher trials myself.

I ran LauncherPro all day and I kept getting lag and one or two force closed....usually when messing with the beautiful widgets clock/weather......Zeam seems to have a lot less of this stuff....I've decided on Zeam (for now anyway) with 4 screens and 16 items in the scrollable dock....that is until someone mentions something better....

Check out Zeam...it seems pretty stable....and I use Jorte for my calender (it syncs with the g mail calender.

Yea I've been running zeam and lp tonight trying to decide.. I think I'll switch back and forth for a few days to see what I like best. Thanks for advice though :D

I've been running Zeam for a few days now without any problems....now I just have to decide on 3 or 5 screens......

I have been really digging this Go Launcher. It has just updated and now supports the scrolling widgets and I think is a clear competitor to ADW and LP!!!

I dig Go a lot, it has my favorite parts of ADW and LP.

The built in task killer might be a deal breaker to me as it renders app protector pro useless. Silly to include IMO, it's not sophisticated enough to replace a good stand alone task killer.

I wish there was a way to separate the screen timeout and lock timeout on this phone, there wasn't an app for it last I checked, I will ask again. That would be an ok substitute for app protector

Why don't you try it? :)

I just did, took 5 minutes.

I'm still setting up my screens but Go seems at leats as smooth/quick as Zeam.....gee which one?

Go is very nice now I just gotta decide.....almost a toss up...the docks are different and the app drawers scroll differently....?????

Zeam is very simple so people who experience lag for whatever reason (crappy phone, or too many homescreens/widgets/processes) appreciate it over more powerful, resource draining, feature packed launchers. Zeam does not have custom icons, does not let you organize the app drawer different ways ot let you hide apps you don't use, no folders. It's just a very basic launcher. If that's all you need, certainly theres no reason to dedicate your system resources to a more bloated launcher. I don't get much lag on any of the major launchers the way I have my phone set up so I have no reason to run something like Zeam. You may be different.

I don't think the lag/force closes that I experienced with LauncherPro were due to a crummy phone (Fascinate), etc.??? I am not rooted on my phone. And even when I have the option to use special/custom icons I still go with the stock ones....I'm old and get kinda set on things....lol. Zeam seems to work the best for me (even though this could change).....I'm sure the LauncherPro calendar app is great (looks like the sense calendar) but Jorte has been working good for me.

In your case it's because you were running lp on top of touchwiz most probably.

I bet you are right....and I'm not too comfortable with rooting right now....and that is the only way to get rid of TouchWiz (right?). I'm still waiting for the 2.2 or 2.3 update.

More launchers=more lag...,and touchwiz can only be removed with root.

Id never pressure someone toward root. But you see a lot of posts about people holding off rooting until 2.2....my question is why wait? There's no difference from doing it now or waiting other than having to deal with an unrooted device longer. :)

Right now my phone pretty much does everything I want it to....I want to see how it acts with the upgrades. I would love to get rid of the bloatware.....and faster is always ok with me.
