Android is open source and the limitations are in the hardware, where as with iOS the limitations are all in the software.
Apple doesn't hold a candle to Android. The only thing Apple has going for it is it's clean/stylish interface.. which I will say is spectacular. I have an itouch and an iPad and I love them, but I would never trust them with my cellphone... esp. because they're locked to a single, crappy network.
You're arguing about a matter of opinion - there really will never be a winner.
Just congratulate him on having a phone he's happier with and say that you are just as happy as he is with your phone.
Agree to disagree, it's not worth arguing over.
Bingo!!!
He has a phone that he likes, you have a phone that you like. EVERYONE WINS!
I've actually had a few friends with iPhones try to make a my phone is better than your phone argument with me. In the past I used to take the bait and point out all the things that Android can do, but iOS can't. Then someone asked me the same question that your friend did. I explained that the hardware is probably capable, but that the phone itself would most likely self destruct from embarrassment and boredom.
You think Apple's bad and restrictive, you should see how fast posts get deleted from threads in this forum for no reason.

There is always a reason.
Just ask him right back if his iPhone can play any FLASH anything
If he's jailbroken on iOS 4.x, then he actually can have full Flash, while us 2.1 Android guys are still waiting for it. The iPhone hardware is capable of a lot if it's jailbroken, it just takes more work to get it to do everything, and is a pain to keep updated. That's why I made the switch to Android, I get the powerful hardware paired with easy to modify software. Plus, no more iTunes!
