This post may go a little long since I will be detailed. I will probably ask a question at the end that's very simply answered and everything I put is pointless. Since I am still pretty much and Android neophyte I think I should be detailed.

Okay, I will not be bitching and moaning about my TB, but I do have an issue that is annoying and rapidly approaching making me mad at my much loved phone.

Over the past month my TB has been acting more and more odd. I frequently get the 'application has force closed' when I open up my emails, it still opens fine. Two of my emails sync basically whenever the hell they want. Sometimes it's every hour (like set) or it's 5 minutes to 12 hours. The top bar notifications sometimes leave after accessing or maybe a couple hours later. The number on the app goes away right away.

I've been having the occasional screen not changing when I get a call. It will ring and the screen stays the same, or goes black, but has the answer button visible.

Frequently (3 out or 5 times) when I unlock the phone it goes straight into the news app, even though I haven't used it an a day.

Those are really not that bothersome coupled with the two annoying things, it adds up.

The big ones.

The really annoying one. I am getting a few times a week a power off. Not a reboot, that only has happened 3 times, twice pre-OTA and once after. The phone just shuts down, it starts right back up when I power on again. I bought a cheapie alarm clock because I did miss my alarm one day because it turn off.

Now this one may have been my fault. Sometimes I have terrible battery life. Normally I could go pretty much all day with medium use then charge. Last night I took the phone off the charger at 8pm and at 12:30 am it was down from 93% to 47% with no use, just sitting on my desk. I always turn off that p______start_____ whatever that's tied into the Blockbuster app. It just seems odd that I went ages with great battery life and now it can be so much of a crap shoot. Could I have maybe made something that's power hungry not show up when I check to see what's running? One day stellar and the next terrible without doing anything too different.

So if you read all that here's my question. I think maybe I need to reset the phone, unless there are any other solutions out there. What do I need to do to back up all my stuff (like precious stars) that aren't on the SD card?

Also I swear this all started when I added 5 or six apps and updated around 10 on about half an hour. Could that have confused things?

Thanks.

Unfortunately if you're not rooted you can not back up all your data. You can save your contacts to google so when you enter your email address at the startup screen it'll re-add your contacts. You can download an app called SMS Backup + that will save your SMS messages to your gmail account as well.

Doing a factory reset is probably a good idea. I would suggest doing what I said above so you don't completely lose everything when you reset.

Thanks WormDoes. I guess I will bite the bullet tonight and rest the thing. Of course it's just when I get things almost the way I like it.
