Root Help me unroot my desire.. Bootloader 0.93

Few days back, I rooted my unbranded HTC desire and installed Cyanogenmod 7 rc..
Now I'm having some issues and want to revert back to the stock HTC rom.. When I try to do it with a particular RUU, it says "bootloader version error".. my bootloader version is 0.93 . Could you please help me unroot it so that I can get it replaced under warranty...
Please please please reply fast..
Thanks..

I'm not an expert but I can point you in the direction of a way I just did it.

Go to your phone's settings>about and make note of your software/build version (they should be the same or similar).

Go to Index of /shipped/Bravo/ and find one that matches your software version and download it.

Plug your phone into your computer and make sure it is set to charge only.

Run the .exe you downloaded earlier and follow it's instructions.

Should be done.

In about phone section , it shows...

Android Version - 2.3.2

Kernel Version - 2.6.37-cyanogenmod-g5d81752 android@giulio-desktop #6

Build number - GRH78C...

Can't find anything related to this..
Sorry for being so noob...

You don't say whether you want to revert because you need to return the phone to HTC for a warranty problem (and hence need it to be running unmodified software for the warranty to be valid) or because of some problem with the ROM. In the first case you do indeed need to find the appropriate RUU. In the second, you could just load some other ROM - there are rooted stock ROMs as well. You'd still be rooted in this case, but that in itself shouldn't cause any problems.

@SUroot.. No its not branded...

@ Hadron... I just want to revert back to the stock rom... I want my phone to be in the factory default settings... had a bad experience with rooting my phone.. I will never root my phone again.. just want my previous phone back.. please help.. :(

OK, well if you download 2.29.405.5 it SHOULD work. If it gives an error, then it was branded. In this case you will need a goldcard (see rooting FAQ for guide / steps).

I will find the link to this download for you shortly.

Isn't this 0.93 version of bootloader is the problem ? I've read somewhere that you can't downgrade it so you can't unroot it .. thats what I understood.. please tell me its wrong..

The rooting FAQ as mentioned twice before ;)

It is in the rooting sticky thread OR in My signature. Signatures only appear once per page in a thread so you will have to find my first post in this thread to see it probably.

EDIT> you cant "Downgrade" any HBOOT with any RUU. They have to go UP in version number (or remain the same).

There is no problem with .93 and its not that new. If you want an unbranded WWE phone, use the goldcard and the RUU mentioned (2.29.405.5)

Operator branded. So it has possibly an operator logo on it as a splash screen, or some operator apps (carrier / network provider whatever). Sometimes they appear unbranded but still have a specific version.

The 2.29.405.5 is unbranded World Wide Englisdh, so if you are ok with that, go for it.

Its the 405 on the WWE one that lets us know its unbranded (or generic) but Im not sure what that number is in other languages / parts of the world.

EddyOS probably has an idea.

The x.xx.405.x is the European unbranded ROM, x.xx.707.x is the Asian unbranded ROM. Only if the RUU has the name in it (or you get operator branding) is it branded. Different regions will have a different product code

The only other thing I can suggest to get back to stock is to downgrade to 1.21.405.2 using Teppics guide and then flash the 2.13.707.1 RUU over it - this should work but you need a gold card for the downgrade. Here's the guide:

[HOWTO] Downgrade Froyo (2.2) to Stock 2.1 (ANY HBOOT | WIN/LINUX/MAC | ROOT) - xda-developers

Yes, but it's the Asian-region handset as opposed to the Euro one

Follow the guide I posted and you can then flash the 2.13.707.1 RUU to go back to stock
