Hi I downloaded the CSrom 2.1.7 and i mistakenly forgot to read up on it and didn't wipe before downloading and when i try to boot up i get stuck in an endless cycle. is there a way to load a rooted recovery menu to my phone without my phone actually beiing booted up so i may please use my precious hero again?

Boot to recovery, wipe everything, data Dalvik cache and cache, then flash the rom again;)

Boot to recovery:
While holding the volume down, press the red end key. Then you will see 'recovery', press the home key

Wiping:
Wipe 'data/factory reset'. Wipe 'cache partition'. Then go to 'advanced', wipe 'Dalvik cache'

Flashing rom:
Then go to 'install zip from sd card'. Find where the zip file is for the rom. Could be in the 'downloads' folder. Flash it and then when 'installation complete', reboot phone
 
That is assuming he flashed by RM, I have a gut feeling he didn't and simply flashed the ROM by USB, I could be wrong, hope so

CsRoM is rom manager specific, it's in the download section.

So I guessed I assumed but....
 
That is an old ROM - No longer being worked on.
If I were you....(im not...but if I was)
Try one of the newer ones. You will have MUCH better luck with them
 
thanks you guys for your help, i fixed it by using the 2.1 updater from my provider which reverted my phone back to its original state. do any of have any suggestions for an up-to-date ROM for the cdma hero?
 
2.1 is the latest unless you root

: ) He is rooted....otherwise he couldn't have Flashed CrunchySofts Rom! :D


depends what you are looking for...NFinite has a 2.2 sense based Rom.
Most here run AOSP .9.9.2 - but we are playing with gingerbread.
 
He just said he updated 2.1 from his provider

i used the 2.1 updater to revert my phone back to how it was when i got it. Now it is rooted again and im trying to find an ALTERNATIVE TO THE 2.1 ROM.
