Help Help, my EVO thinks I'm in Paris!

So I live in New York and tried to use ShopSavvy to check a price at the store earlier this evening and the results were coming up in Euros. So I thought perhaps the book was foreign or something so I scanned several other items and the same thing kept happening. Then I noticed the time and knew that it couldn't possibly be 2:30 in the morning. Finally I see that it has my location as Paris. I've restarted the phone and it did go back to NY for a while...but now it's showing Paris again. Any idea how I can fix this?

I powered down and pulled the battery. Everything went back to New York...but now it's a few hours later and although the time is still right, the location and weather are back to Paris. What's up with that?

In case anyone is interested, it's cloudy and 37 degrees there at the moment. lol

Funny thing is when i was in Paris, it kept saying I was in NY. But I think thats because I didn't get a signal and it was stuck at that point. lol

Pulling the battery should work though.

some have reported that opening weather and turning off the sync and gps auto update functions and then turning them back on fixes this

and then

homescreen -> Menu -> Settings -> System updates -> ... update both profile and PRL

Many of us do that for any major update - no guarantees, but it's been known to cure a lot of ills.

I've only had the phone for 3 days and this has happened. You know that Sprint will only offer me a factory reset. I just did one and FOR NOW it has fixed the problem. I have my doubts that it will stay fixed.........we will see...........I was so looking forward to this upgrade from my Hero........:(
 
Mine started doing this crazy location and time issue after the update in December to 3.70.651.1 . Just give it up and get used to it. I have tried EVERYTHING short of a hard reset. After awhile you will learn not to trust the time and place. Mine has an affinity for Tallinn Estonia. And occasionally it decides it likes Luanda Angola. Only happens once in awhile. Usually on a weekly bases.
Normally it will clear after an hour or so. Look around on this forum. Lots of people having this exact same issue. I think there is some corruption in a Tower Location table/index database. Its fun to show your friends and family you Sprint Smartphone has lost its mind. LOL
