Root Help please

Im new to this whole idea of rooting so please bear with me if i sound like a fool. Anyways i downgraded my phone to stock 2.0.1 and rooted it. I then found this guide to rooting 2.1 How To: Root the Motorola Droid (Android 2.0.1 & 2.1) | The Unlockr so my question is do i have to revert to stock 2.0.1 or can i just drop the rooted droid 2.1 update .zip file into my sd card and open recovery mode and update?

You don't have to revert. Use the sprecovery sbf method its faster and easier than reverting. Look in the guid to all things root related the last post gives an explanation of this method
