Not sure if the nandroids will work on his. From the description of the problem, they will likely be giving him a new(or refurbished) phone. Are the nandroids able to be restored on another phone like that?

Not sure if the nandroids will work on his. From the description of the problem, they will likely be giving him a new(or refurbished) phone. Are the nandroids able to be restored on another phone like that?

Glad you got it unrooted. I doubt the red flagged you. But who knows? Most of the Sprint stores around me are pretty reasonable about rooting as long as you seem like you know what your talking about (they've had to fix too many peoples mistakes). In my buddies case, he's not exactly intelligent, and they wanted him to unroot it before having the tech work on it. Good luck!

Good call, didn't think about that. No, they will not be able to work on another phone because of the wimax keys. My buddy just got his phone fixed and not replaced, so I could use the nandroids.
So i went too a diffrent sprint store(they didnt tell me anything about my rooting
) and was told that they couldnt help me because i didnt have insurance, but too call htc and theyll help me out because i still had warranty. Well thats totally different of what the other sprint store that caught me rooted said. They said if they couldnt fix it they would get a replacement and all i would have to pay is $35 and they new i didnt have insurance.(All that went downhill when they found out i was rooted -_-) I called htc and they told me i had to mail my phone in and theyll fix it and it was gunna take about 3weeks. I dont want to be phoneless for that long!D: And i bet its going to be extremely expensive for shipping and handling. Should i go to the sprint store i went to b4? Maybe theyll help me out more and theyll get a replacement. But im sceptical that theyll remember i ws the one that was rooted??? What should i do???

I don't know, you may be able to see if they are able to fix it without insurance but it would probably cost more than $35.
Well the first time i went they said they were going to try to fix it and if they couldn't they were going to send me a replacement for only $35. But then they found out I was rooted so they couldnt do anything because it voided my warranty. This other Sprint store just said that i had to call htc nothing about replacemnt. They didn't tell me i was redflagged or anything. I'm going to go to the first sprint store I went to hopefully they tell me the same thing they did at first about the $35 replacement. Ahhi hope they don't recognize me or still have the paper work that said I was rooted

I told him my phones issues and he looked at it and said he wasnt even going to bother to send it to the stores repair because he already knows what there going to say. So he immediately ordered me a new htc Evo for only $35 He didnt say anything about my phone being rooted before! Thanks alot for helping me unroot my phone. Which i dont even think wass neccessarry because he looked at it the whole time with the screen on lock! But thanks anyways!!

It needed to be unrooted anyway as once sprint or HTC got it, they would have likely flagged your account for it and charged you. Glad you got it taken care of.
