Help!!! I have a nexus 7 32gig tablet...recently reset. every time I go to the play store to down load I get an error code "403". Google doesn't no what it is and I have looked on line with no luck. Bought another tab. thinking the Nexus 7 was shot but it does the same thing.

Can some one here help me????

403 is server not responding. It happens sometimes with reset devices. if you give it a day or so, it usually resolves itself.

Found this, may help.
code 403

From the link above,
There could be one of 3 reasons for this: 1. Your browser is using a "cache" that is retaining old links, or you've saved an old link as a favorite book mark. This is an increasing problem with Windows XP and the newer versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape. In either case, you'll need to clean out your stored files and / or reset you links prior to being able to view this site.
If you're accessing codec corner with IE,
1. go into TOOLS
2. INTERNET OPTIONS
3. under the GENERAL tab go down to TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES and click on SETTINGS.
4. Change CHECK FOR NEW VERSIONS to EVERY VISIT TO THE PAGE.
5. Shut down your browser and restart it
Then you should have little to no problem.

Edit: This also apply's to your tablet.

I've had this a few times this evening, on two different devices, and it's taking several attempts to get any apps to download. Getting 404 errors as well with Play, 404 is "not found". Google might be having difficulties with the Play Store....again. Could be a regional problem, OP what country are you in? 403 "forbidden" can often be a problem at the server end as well,

I assumed (perhaps erroneously) the the play store worked fine before the reset, everything else being the same. If that's not the case, then it very well could be a regional issue.

First I thought it might have been Chinese censoring, but it never usually interferes with Play, also that wouldn't do 403 or 404 errors anyway, not that I've ever seen.

I'm sure Play servers are global, i.e. it's not all coming from servers in the US is it? Most of the app reviews I see seem to come from India, they all have Indian names, and I'm in Asia of course.

The play store servers are localized, AFAIK. Regional outages are becoming less frequent, but still quite possible.

You can check the availability of the play store here.

I had the same problem - 403 for a couple of hours. I thought there is some cache somewhere, so I switched from Wi-Fi to "Data Connection", then refreshed, it showed 403 again, then I switched back to Wi-Fi, and after refresh it was alive! Looks like when you switch the internet connection method, it clears the cache, at least it worked for me.
