Root Help Request: "HTC Evo 4G" Cricket Android Apps + Gingerbread + S_on

Phone: HTC EVO 4G
Carrier: Cricket (prl 42000)
OS: Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread
Security: On
Rooted: No

Reprogramed using QPST and ##data.
Internet works. MMS does not (unable to root at this time).
Proxy: wap.cricket.com , 8080

Google Apps: Map, Market, Gmail, do not work.

Q1: What specific settings allow google apps to function? What are strategies that I can employ?

I have reprogrammed two other cdma phones, this is my first android (oh, how i love it).

If someone will provide this information. I will use my technical writing skills to create an incredible set of instructions for this phone/qpst/cdma.

i'm not very familiar with evo on cricket. all i have seen to get you setup right is that you need to be rooted first. and since you are on gingerbread you will have to wait. i could be very wrong though. maybe someone else can chime in.
