Root Help resetting connection settings

It is a DEV phone. I just got it today from rcsrich. He already loaded a stock ROM and the phone numbers listed in it are all ones.

EDIT: BSydz, if you think I should send nyloo7 a copy of the partition, let me know. I have never used dd_rescue, so if you want to walk me through it, I have most everything here at the house.

Yep- she should be all cleaned out- did a wipe with CWM, then flashed unroot, then did a factory reset from inside the settings menu once I booted into stock ROM. Should be about as clean as it gets... :)

Glad to hear the phone showed up in one piece dsmryder!

One piece? Where was a ton of stuff in the box:D
Thank you.

Now I just have to convince my daughter that it's nor her phone.

Hahaha. Tell her, the phone needs to go home for a few days becausr it misses its family. That always worked with my little sister when she was 3. Haha.

My daughter's 8, and I don't want to lie to her. I hope that works for when she needs to listen to me.

Never looked at my phone like this.

BSydz said that this can take over an hour, we'll have to wait.

OK, I need to do reasearch. In case I don't find what happened.

I might try to just to pull the 16th partition. and see what will happen

I'm going to try to unmount the drives.

I've tried that. I think BSydz also did too. The partition is encrypted. Only garbage files came up. I think they are using different file system for it. That's why. I don't think you can read it on ext4 or FAT32 or NTFS.

EDIT: If you are going to send, remember to only pull the sdd16. If it is sdd, it'll be huge and it'll overwrite everything. sdd16 is relatively small.

Well, what I ment is that nothing was on my UBD drive. I didn't see any change to it, so that's why I unmounted the drives to see what would happen.

Oh. To see the partition files, you have to pull partition by partition. For example, dd_rescue /dev/sdd1 /dev/sdc1 (assuming your phone partition is sdd and USB is sdc). That will show up on your memory stick. But to pull another partition, you have to create another partition on your USB stick as it only has one partition initially.

I thought you were only trying to backup the entire partition. They are like branches of a tree inside. sdd being the main body, sdd1 to sdd17 are little branches. Hope that makes sense. Lol. I'm horrible at explaining. I'll never be a teacher.

Wait untill you try to explain primary, extended, and dynamic partitions.

Ok ok ok ok. I'm really excited because it was a complete success. I have so many people to thank for and I'm going to list them. Hope I don't forget anyone. All of you are in this thread anyways. Haha. And again. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

I'm gonna start with g60madman. The very first person I got pm from who gave me light of hope while I was in dark. Thank you for helping me and also directing me to BSydz.

Then, BSydz who is expert on Triumph data structures who knew inside and out of the phone. Thank you for finding out my stupid mistake in less than 5 minutes. Haha. :)

Now, the person who gave me the partition I needed. Thank you dsmryder for taking the time to read my thread and decided to give me the partition I needed.

Also, rcsrich for giving the dev phone to dsmryder. Awesome :)

So, partition 16 is the partition that keeps 3G information. I was able to revive that partition and 3G worked right away. Now, we just need to test if that partition has sensitive phone data or not. If the test comes out negative, we can share and fix this partition for anyone who needs. Although, I seem to be the first person to mess it up. :(

You're super-welcome nyioo7, just really glad I was able to play a part in the recovery! :)
