Root Help!: Rooting from 2.1 SBF

Droid X

So I'm on RootzWiki (great info, btw), and I flashed the stock 2.1 SBF because I wanted to start all over.

SBF flashed well, I follow all instructions on RootzWiki and everything went perfect.

Now I'm following the instructions to root my phone, and I'm stuck on the command line:
11. Run "adb push exploid /sql*"

I'm getting an error that says "failed to copy 'exploid' to '/sql*': Read-only file system"

Anyone know what this means? I'm in USB debugging mode, and all instructions on the page worked fine until there.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!

Not to bump an old thread but...

So for some reason I still insist on rooting the Birdman method. and if you are getting stuck at that step. it is

Droid X
Step 11 change to:

Run "adb push exploid /sqlite_stmt_journals/exploid"

At the very end when you exit exit
adb shell
su

be sure to look at your phone and allow root.

yeah i do too but thats not what people who need help want to hear. The easiest way to get it done is what most people want
