Root Help rooting without a PC

I went to the Library but they have blocks set up. My dads computer has a damn virus. I rooted my old HTC before it went swimming. I don't have a computer to do it. So any assistance would be greatl appreciated.

you can't root the phone without a computer. depending on how you want ot root the phone you will need to enter commands from the pc. there is no way around it.......sorry

do you have friends with pc's?

I know you need a computer because of the drivers and files you need. Like I mentioned my dads computer has a virus and I rooted my other HTC. None of my friends have computers. That's why I was hoping someone on here could do it.

There is a way to bypass the virus on your dads computer.

In the DirtyRacun rooting for dummies guide there is a section for loading a Live CD of Ubuntu for rooting the phone. If you can burn a CD of Ubuntu, you can root from there. You'll be essentially booting a new operating system therefore bypassing the virus on the Windows OS.

Ubuntu is pretty cool once you get used to it, and the commands aren't that bad.

Hey guys. Is there anybody around the weatherford,tx area or dallas area?? My htc evo 4g LTE needs rooting. I dont have a computer and the library has administrative blocks on theirs. Any help would be great. And of course I would gladly put up a fee for helping me too.
