Root Help running RUU

im stuck not sure what im doing and where to go i have a virgin mobile evo 3d s on 1.57 hboot openadsp v02.6.0.2226.00.0217 ,emmc-boot radio 1.o9.00.0706 apr 20,2012 dont know what ruu i need but please help,also it is relocked and has a security warning tried multiple ruu files and none have worked last one i tried said cid incorrect just want it back to stock thanks in advance

I am a little busy right now but I will move this to the Evo V all things root section after I finish posting my reply so that others can jump in and help if you have more questions and I can't reply right away.

There is only one RUU for your device, and luckily it looks like you have taken the November OTA update but not the recent March update. Be aware that if you take the March update, there will be no RUU available for your phone. So if you stay s-on, I would suggest not updating to the newest unless you go s-off first or know you are going to stay stock.

Start downloading the RUU from here:
Dev-Host - RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.13.652.2_Radio_1.06.00.0426_NV_1.53_144_release_262287_signed.exe - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

While that's downloading, go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865569 and download the SetMainVersionLow.zip

You will need to put that on your sd card and flash it through recovery just like you would a rom. This is required before the RUU will allow you to run it. So once you have the RUU downloaded, boot into your bootloader. (Battery pull then hold volume down+power) Then select fastboot from that screen and attach your phone to the PC. You should see FASTBOOT USB in red letters. Then run the RUU.exe and follow the on screen instructions and you should be good to go!!
 
i dont have a recovery any more just hboot and fastboot my phone is jacked up becouse of me haha and when i try to flash anything through fastboot it says failed becouse of signature

That is because the bootloader is locked. So you need to use your unlock code if you still have it and use:
fastboot oem flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

Then If you still have recovery.img in your adb/fastboot folder on the pc use the command:
fastboot boot recovery.img

This will launch the recovery and allow you to flash the SetMainVersionLOW zip. Then you should be able to ruu.

flashed the wrong kernal and then it started boot looping its been broke for 4 days now and im using my old optimus v yeah big switch love the evo and cant wait to use it again

You probably could have just restored a backup or did a full wipe and reflash your rom. This probably could have been a lot easier on you :p but it is what it is. We'll get there.
