Root Help the Devs with Froyo!!!

just turned on ota...I'll let y'all know if I get anything...also, I am unfamiliar with the "checkin" trick...is there a thread explaining how to use it?

Math just go to the phone dialer wher you would dial a number and type this in.

I woke up this morning and there was a bar across my phone saying an OTA update was ready. I clicked "more info..." and it said it was Froyo. It didn't give me an option after that, but I have "abde5df21607.VS740_ZVC_to_ZVD_03_Inc.zip" in my cache. It's 54.8MB according to root explorer. Is that what everyone's waiting for?

Nope, they already had one. They said I was #2 but they appreciated it. I'm gonna keep it in my "back pocket" on my computer and hold it until they tell me it's OK to load.

Same here. Someone hollar it they need it and I will upload it. Strange thing is that I'm using punisher and didn't enable anything... or is punisher set up to get ota's maybe?

I'm running punisher too, so it receives the updates, but I wouldn't take the chance of trying to install it with punisher loaded.
 
Got an OTA this morning. Clicked "Install later." I too am using a custom ROM (Velocity 0.4) and actually want to keep it that way. Hopefully my brother gets it soon (he also has an Ally...unrooted) so I can play with it and see what the difference is.

If any devs need (for some reason) another 2.2 thingymajig from a different phone, I am glad to help. Just shoot me a pm and tell me how to get it to you lol.

sorry i messed this for you. I got it last night and tried to update. It failed for some reason (rooted on velocity?). I went to the LG updated and it went thru flawlessly. Unfortunately I lost my root access and now Tit BU and Rom manager dont work. I installed the SU from the SD card but the Tit and Rom still don't get the SU privilege.

I got it today. Copied it to sd with root explorer Phone told me to update like ten times after i clicked later all day so he clicked ok an let it fail because I have Amon ra.
If it's neded pm me.
 
Did the Devs get the files needed from the OTA, sorry I am a day late and dollar short but I have the update not installed but downloaded on my vel .4 phone waiting for a response.
