Hello I am new to the site and to droid. A friend of mine rooted my phone and I didn't want it that way do to the warranty. I just did the downgrade and on the reboot the screen turned black and has not came back on I believe it shuts off cause when I push the power button it vibrates like it is shutting down but then I cant do anything after that?

I talked to Verizon they are going to send a new is there a way to tell if my phone is unrooted?

You did the wrong downgrade, you are now on 2.1 which doesn't support slcd, the easiest way to fix it would be to do the 2.2 RUU.
Verizon most likely will be able to tell you were rooted and will charge you for the new phone.

You can also follow the steps I posted here (post #21):

This is the RUU, if you want to use that, it's the easiest method if you have access to a windows xp computer:
http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/RUU...4k_NV_1.70_PRL58006_release_152016_signed.exe
You will also need htc sync installed to run it:

Exactly what downgrade link did you use?

Edit: sd beat me on the post and got more to the point. Kinda what I was thinking re: 2.1
