Got a similar message with android Flasher. It also said I need an "ENG" something or other...bootloader?

Shall I forget about Amon Ra for the moment and try to flash the ROM with Clockwork ?

You could go with clockwork, but wipe, wipe, wipe ,wipe and wipe again before flashing.
Kinda like you with your baby after he/she makes a big "mess"

Edit: thinking some more here, perhaps a fresh download of the recovery file would help?
I assumed you extracted the .img file from the .zip too when using the fastboot method?

Yup, extracted files and have tried with just img and img + "info" file in the folder. Same message. OK going to do a load of wiping and try to get the ROM on here....
Word to the wise...don't wipe the sd card itself in recovery Did that once....oops..no rom to flash

Whoohoo! Rom flashed just fine after some heavy wiping. Really pleased... Freedompop seems to work. Can't thank Mike and OCN enough...you guys are the best!
