I looked in the samsung app store and it looks like all they have for it are sms themes. I tried the google play store as well and it seems that it got a lot of bad reviews.

bad reviews? it has 4.5 out of 5 stars. plus i never really rely on what people say about reviews. i use go sms and it works great. and yes there are a ton of themes so it is very customizable as well. just give it a try and if you do not like it you can always uninstall it. it is free after all so go for it and let us know if it works for you.

Carrier: Bought in singapore from singtel but plan to use in UK with o2

Country you are using your phone in: UK

Pulldown indicates no service, when trying to turn on mobile data, i get "insert sim card to access network services", in settings, mobile networks, i get "insert sim card to access network services". Basically, it worked fine with my pay as you go card from singtel whilst i was in singapore and i was able to use the internet. But when i put in my UK o2 sim card, i cannot get access to 3G services (surf net), but i can still make calls and receive texts. Been to the o2 shop and they say it isnt a sim problem as the sim allows me to use the internet on my wife's iphone. so i'm thinking it could be something to do with the 3g setting on the phone. am considering rooting if that will allow me to get 3g.

thanks for the help!

Carrier: Virgin Mobile
Country you are using your phone in: US

As a loyal Android user, I am always able to fix these problems eventually, but this one is unique and I can't seem to fix it. I cannot wait for an update to fix this because Virgin Mobile sucks with sending out updates.

The problem is, I have a Kyocera Rise and the only hard button that works is the Lock button. The camera and volume up/down buttons nor the hard keyboard have worked since the day after I got the phone. I firmly believe this is a software problem because everything worked flawlessly when I turned it on out of the box. Now, this is unique because it isn't the fact that they don't work at all but it seems like these buttons are permanently registered as downpresses, because when I hold the up-volume button for 10 seconds, the volume goes up but if I attempt to adjust it onscreen, it just keeps going back up. Also, randomly on the home screen, it would switch to search and spam the u key forever until I close out search and switch to another app. It does this all the time, and not only that, search would randomly open again and type something like @lmcyvu just once. This problem is quite annoying because none of the hard buttons work and I feel handicapped with this phone. Any help would be appreciated, but I will describe what I have done to try to fix this already:

Hold down random combinations of buttons for 10+ seconds(they press just once when I do this and still do not work)
Factory reset
Factory reset + SDcard wipe
Accessing the phone by computer to look into the folders(not rooted, went as far as I could without it)
Googling solutions for almost a week now.

I do hope someone can help me with this, thank you in advance.

Thank you both for your advice. I have resolved the issue. From what I can gather after fixing this is that since Credo is such a small phone branch, there is less quality in the setup of the phones they send. The fix was simple but in the in the instance someone else might be trouble by this, they should just call Credo. They gave me a few quick instructions.

Basically the problem here is I am trying to use this guide (How to move almost all Android apps to SD card (no root required)) to enable me to move most, if not all my apps that stupidly take up 99% of my Storage (seriously..my old non-android phone could do it, why can't this when everybody bloody has it?). Problem is, when following the guide, I realise that my Device does not have a Driver for it. Okay, so I proceed to find Drivers for my phone (Going to this page: https://github.com/ClockworkMod/TetherResources/wiki/Windows-Drivers and getting the ZTE Drivers) and install the .exe. So, through navigating to the Program Files of where it is installed, the readme file tells me to use the ADBinstall.bat which when double-clicked quickly flashes the Command Line (with no words on it) and disappears. Same with Deinstaller aswell. So, also included is an .exe Driver installer for x64 and x86, with my Windows XP 32-bit system being the latter. Hopefully, almost naively, I think this could work.

It didn't, with the timer icon appearing near the arrow, but nothing proceeds to appear. By this point I am exasperated with why Android can't decide to have this as a default feature, I mean if I was determined to sort this out, think about other people without my knowledge who would be well and truely, well, fudged.

So I search up how I could manage to install this another way. I try using this method (How to install USB drivers for the Orange San Francisco / ZTE Blade / ZTE Libra U-V880) but instead of one Other Device, I have two 'AndroidPhone's coming up. I try directing the Device installer to where the Windows XP 32-bit drivers are for my phone, but Windows apparently cannot find the right software in the damn DRIVER FOLDER.

So I have wasted/used enough time myself on this. Now I'm asking if anybody can help me on it. Thing is, once this driver is installed, it's a relative Cake walk (Victoria Sponge is a nice choice), and yes I do have the Android SDK installed with the USB Drivers for Windows. Please, please can somebody save me from this pile of *insert many unaudible words here*

hi! i'm not sure if this issue was raised and i have not checked the other listings/threads but i noticed since the upgrade to 4.1.1 firmware the galaxy S3 goes through a stage where it unmounts my sd card and would not read anything on it. i would get constant notifications of the unmounting, trying to format and unreadable status of the SD card.

i had initially thought it was because i was using a class 4 micro SD card but i have since then replaced it with a class 10 32 BG micro sd. is this because of the latest firnware? is there something i can do about it? i have a friend who also upgraded to the latest firmware and gets the same problem.

thank you. would like to hear from you all.

My phone is already rooted and CWM recovery installed. When I tried to update from official site I got an error after rebooting into recovery. It said failed to check whole file signature. Could someone help me? I've redownloaded the update.zip and checked it with winRAR but no error was found with the update package.

little help here please..

1.) Model Number: Pantech P8010 Flex/Oscar
2.) Firmware Version: 4.0.?
3.) Baseband Version: unkwown
4.) Kernel Version: unknown
5.) Build Number: unknown
6.) stock/unrooted

Hi to everyone, new to the forums and new to Android, but not to Linux. I was given a Pantech P8010 by a friend who figured it was dead and thought I might be able to resurrect it. What I THINK I know about the phone is that it's stock in all ways, but it's currently soft-bricked with no way to get in to it. I've got a phone specific thread also in the forums, but wanted to also toss this here for some general information.

I can get in to bootloader screen (vol up and down held down, pwr on), and can get into PDL download/SW upgrade and fastboot mode. I have adb and fastboot, as well as Pantech PC suite on a Win 7 machine. I normally use Linux, but am building a new 64-bit Debian system, so I am currently using one of two 32-bit Debian Wheezy boxes. I didn't think it'd make a difference unless I was compiling a ROM from source, but will use the Win machine for phone work for now.

So, fastboot can see the phone, gives me the s/n when I query fastboot devices. The problems are that the phone was never unlocked before whatever happened to brick it (and bootloader screen shows it's oem locked", and ADB was never turned on. Previous owner just didn't know anything about this stuff, and I'm learning fast. So naturally with debugging off in the phone I can' do anything with adb. And since it's still locked, fastboot only does a couple of things that I know about, none useful. I have recovery and boot images in the tools folder and path, don't have a system image. And because I'm still learning and ignorant about Android, I don't know if I NEED a system image right now, or something else, or a combo of things.

And what I really don't know is if there is any work around to get past these issues. Can I force an unlock with some scripting mojo? I feel like the guy standing in front of two locked doors and all I have is a hunk of rebar. With the right files I could make a lock pick. I won't be getting rid of the phone, and since it was given to me I won't get a warranty replacement. It's was an ATT phone, but we use Verizion so if it gets fixed I will activate it there.

Is there maybe some hope, or is this maybe a JTAG project (and has anyone every seen the pinout for this phone? Just 'cause it uses the Snapdragon SOC, I don't assume it's the same as other phones with that chipset).

Thanks for any help, suggestions, etc. And many thanks to teddyearp for trying to help me in my other thread.

Need help with memory and storage. I bought a new microSDHC Card, but not any use. Don't know what to do, can't download any apps and my messaging is driving me bonkers.

Hey there west6130!
Although I am not familiar with your device, I can try to help you:)
First, is this your device forum here? :
ZTE AT&T Avail (ZTE Merit) - Android Forums

I did some looking around in there, but didn't come up with anything short of rooting the device.

If that is your device, I would be more than happy to move your posts there so others can see them and chime in with some ideas:D

No my device is a ZTE Z990G. :(

ok so i looked at your phone's specs and you have only 512mb of ram which is not much room for apps, data, and cache. also your phone is running on gingerbread. because of all that it will be hard to have many apps and keep data like sms and mms on your phone unless you move some of them to the card. but with gingerbread, you can only move parts of the apps to the sd card and thus not really freeing up much room on the phone.

there might be some tricks for you like you can use something like sms pro which can move sms and mms to the card.

if you want more tips then i suggest that you go here:ZTE AT&T Avail (ZTE Merit) - Android Forums where you can find threads like this one: http://androidforums.com/zte-t-avai...90g-merit-internal-space-sd-card-rooting.html

hope that helps.....good luck
