Root Help! Usb plug in wont work

I have no idea what i did but everytime i plug the damn thing into the computer it always wants to charge i even bought a data cable its on internet connection trying to update smh

you need an lg wire then. lg specifically doesnt work with all cables

Yeah it's prolly the cable. You need a LG cable or maybe even a Samsung cable.

I freaked out the first time I saw this happen for myself. All over the damn cable. Couldn't believe it.

USB is a standard, the brand of cable makes no difference.

This happened to me (and my wife's esteem) several times too.

When this happens I simply reboot the phone and the problem goes away.

WRONG! USB is a standard, if the cable is up to spec it will work. The only thing is some are made to only supply power (AT&T replacement cables for instance). In fact I have never used the cable that came with my Esteem since I have a pile of other ones that I use.
