Root help with Cyanogenmod latest version

Should I just back them up with lookout or something

Edit: ok I restored my contacts but when I go under cell standby it says 12% without a signal with cyanogen and I have full signal on sense what gives

Are you sure they're google contacts? Did you go back to sense by flashing a ROM or a nandroid backup? If you go to the actual contact in People, up at the top, you'll see what kind of contact it is. If you have any local contacts (not google contacts, but contacts stored on the phone), you must back them up first.
